Greetings saints of God,
I hope you are experiencing God's blessings as you have entered the fall season. Things change like the color of
the leaves etc., but we are on a great journey as we let Father God lead us. e have a lot to pray about, like
who God wants on the !oard of "ay #inistry, who God wants on our $astoral search co%%ittee, God's plan for
us as a congregation, beginning a &ongregational journey of learning how to reach Financial Freedo% as
fa%ilies so we can share with those around us God's wonderful ways of working in our lives. e have also just
begun a ser%on series on 'earing and alking in the (ow ord of God to )s. It's exciting and powerful to be
lead by the "ord. !ut we need to be patient, listen and watch for God's direction. 'ere is a story that helps us
to see how i%portant it is to "et Go of our expectations and let God work as 'e chooses and just go with 'is
flow.
*+ %an was trapped on his house during a flood. 'e began praying to God to rescue hi%. In his %ind he wanted
God,s hand to reach down fro% heaven and lift hi% to safety. The water was rising. 'is neighbor ca%e by in a
row boat and urged hi% to leave, offering hi% a ride in his boat to safety. The %an yelled back, -I a% waiting
for God to save %e.. The neighbor paddled away. The %an continued to pray and hold on to his expectation of
how he wanted God to answer his prayer. +s the water continued to rise, a speed boat ca%e by with so%e
people heading for safe ground. They yelled at the %an to grab a rope they were ready to throw and take hi% to
safety. 'e told the% that he was waiting for God to save hi%. They shook their heads and sped away. The %an
continued to pray, believing with all his heart that he would be saved by God reaching 'is hand down and
rescuing hi%. The flood waters continued to rise. + helicopter flew by and a voice ca%e over a loudspeaker
offering to lower a ladder and take hi% off the roof. The %an waved the helicopter away, shouting back that he
was waiting for God to save hi%. The helicopter left. The flooding water ca%e over the roof and caught hi% up
and swept hi% away. 'e drowned. hen he reached heaven and asked, -God, why did you not save %e/ I
believed in you with all %y heart. hy did you let %e drown/. God replied, -I sent you a row boat, a speedboat
and a helicopter and you refused all of the%. 0ou refused to receive %y help.* "et us not get stubborn and tell
God how 'e has to guide us, but let us hu%ble ourselves before 'i% and be open to receive 'is help and
guidance in the way 'e chooses. "et us pray for the knowledge and revelation of 'is will for us and go with
the flow as 'e reveals it to us. +s we pray God will answer us and show us the way into the future. God bless

5eith 'ackett read the %ission state%ent.

Treasurers report was reviewed and discussed. 3uli stated that after bills were paid the
4tained Glass indow fund had a balance of <=>:?. 5eith 'ackett %oved to accept the report
as corrected followed by a second fro% 3uli. #otion carried.
Properties2 8on !ulthius absent but !rad reported ce%ent in front of church will be replaced
next spring as it is getting a little too late now. The cost of powder coating the handrail is
<@?::. That will be done at the sa%e ti%e the ce%ent is replaced. The budget for ?:@A will
reflect these i%prove%ents. The dishwasher has been repaired. 5eith $. reported that = trees
need to be cut down. If anyone wants the wood please contact 5eith $eterson.

$astor !ob spoke to 6ave 4trohshein fro% $rince of $eace. $astor 6ave doesn,t have
available 4undays in (ove%ber. 'e will contact $astor when it will work out.
4unday school is up and running. e were blessed with a full lineup of teachers. e are
still in need of substitutes. $rayerfully consider being a substitute for the teachers.
'ighlighting of the different service tea%s is going well. $lease stop by the tables each
4unday to see what 41T$ has to offer. There will be sign up sheets at each table if the
"ord %oves you to join the tea%.
