Observer- Abhiron Bhattacharya
Observations:
1) Interview Process: The interview started well and continued in a relaxed manner. The interviewers set the tone by asking
the interviewee about how he felt and was aptly replied by the candidate. Throughout the interview the interviewers especially
the Unit head (Aditya Mittal) encouraged the interviewee & gave him enough leverage to continue speaking his answers
without interrupting him. The process was smooth and lucid and there was no dull or detached moment throughout the
process. The interviewee Abhishek was exuberant in his replies and possessed a positive attitude. The interviewers like
Akaash & Ajinkya were thoughtful yet reserved. The process was concluded satisfactorily with the interviewers
acknowledging the interviewees performance and wishing him all the best for his future.

2) Body Language: The interviewers possessed a very positive body language. Mr. Akaash was keenly listening to the
candidate, he was reserved yet was appreciative in his replies. Mr. Aditya also very appreciative, he tried to keep the
environment light and friendly. Though his body language was good but sometimes he was looking a little fidelity . Mr. Ajinkya
kept a serious demeanor but he was quite candor during his questions. Being the HR head it would have been better if he
could have had a little more eye contact with the candidate. The interviewees body language was exuberant, he kept on
iterating life events to substantiate his answers. His replies were impactful and his preparedness for the interview was shown
through his gestures. Though he could have reduced his hand movements a little but overall in was cohesive with his
statements.

3) Relevancy of Questions/Answers: With respect to the job specifications, each of the interviewers had certain qualities or
parameters to measure during the interviews. I like to individually relate their approach and suggestions as below:

a) Functional Head(Akaash KY): His objective from the process was to judge the candidate for his problem solving
skills and competency towards marketing. He did well by hinting real live scenarios and measuring the candidates
responses to the current industry knowledge. Moreover he checked the aptitude and inclination of candidate in the
field of marketing. Though major part of the JD he covered but I feel that he could have enquired about the
candidates ability in market research and developing pricing strategies, which was a key attribute in respect to the
JD. But overall the answers were satisfactory in respect to the questions probed and ratings given were also justified
according to me.

b) Unit Head (Aditya Mittal): He was mapping the candidate with the company culture and was trying to gauge the
interviewees long/short term commitments. His questions were very apt with the approach. The replies were good
and rehersed but I felt it could have been better structurde as the questions asked were very a common practice in all
organisations. Though he could have tried to prominently measure the candidates ability to lead a team, going by the
nature of post and the job requirements, which I felt was missing. I agree to the ratings of the last three but disagree
on the first as I feel that they are on a higher end, given the quality of the answer which was provided.

c) HR Hear(Ajinkya Medhe): He was trying to gauge the candidates attitude and overall personality with repect to the
job requirements. His questions were very lucid and to the point. He tried to probe the candidate on multiple values
through his questions. The respective answers were sufficient, leaving apart the last one which according to the
interviewer and I agree that it was lacking in content and conviction. I support the ratings provided by him.

d) Interviewee(Abhishek Singhal): He was good with his answers through out the interviews. His attitude had the
positivity and conviction required for the job. Though I felt he was quite focused on projecting selling his
achievemnets, which was good but at times quite repeatative (in the case of case study competitions). Also he was
more focused on his individual caliber and never potrayed his ability to work as a team, except for the band
performances. Overall I feel he can be recruited but he needs to be moulded by a rigorous traning process after
which he can truly be an asset to the organization.
