Most chapters now have their newsletters available electronically, as was proposed by the Rocky Mountain Chapter three years ago.
At the time, I had just taken over as editor of the RoundUp and was unable to create a translatable pdf file for those who wished to
go electronic. I now have that capability. The option is great, saving paper & all. So, if you want to receive the Roundup
via email/pdf, please let me know at: lang@eidolonpress.com. Your humble editor, Lang Ingalls

Ethan Ensign, running for Salt Lake City Co-Chair & Regional Events Coordinator
Ethan Ensign has been a bookbinder and conservator for 15 years. He is the owner of Scrub Oak Bindery, where he has been con-
serving books and art on paper for the last six years. The bindery has hosted workshops on historical bookbinding and fine binding
styles. Ethan has been fortunate enough to be entrusted with the repair of numerous early bindings, as well as focusing on the creation
of artistic fine bindings for competitions, and looks forward to entering books in upcoming competitions. Recently, Ethan has expanded
his skillset and has been making paper (with friends) and printing (on a vandercook) with the goal of producing a book in which
he made the paper, then printed and bound the text. He has been a member of the Guild for several years and looks forward to the
opportunity to serve.
Ginny Kilander, running for Denver Co-Chair
Ginny Kilander is as a faculty archivist in the reference department at the American Heritage Center, University of Wyoming. Her
experiences at the Center have included employment in the rare books library, in the manuscript processing unit, and since 1999 she
has specialized in the reference department where she provides reference assistance and access to the Centers primary sources. Her
art and fiber interests include papermaking and marbling in both historic and modern contexts, and she has attended the University
of Virginias Rare Book School, Guild of Book Workers, Friends of Dard Hunter, and Society of Marbling meetings and events.
Her marbled works and fiber arts garments have shown locally, nationally and internationally. Originally from Indiana, she traveled
to Laramie for graduate school and made the town her home after the completion of her Masters degree in American Studies. She
joined the Guild of Book Workers in 2002.
Sammy Lee, running for Denver Regional Events Coordinator
Sammy studied fne art and graphic design from the University of California at Los Angeles and her graduate study was in architec-
ture at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. It was during her time in graduate school that she was introduced to the world of
book arts through a feld trip to Daniel Kelms bookbindery in Easthampton, Massachusetts. Book arts was a fascinating new media
to her, which, to her surprise, encompassed all of her training in fne arts, graphic design and architecture. She immediately started
her internship under Daniel Kelm, and also completed her master thesis, Space :: Book, An Exploration of Book-like Qualities in
Architecture. She continues to investigate and experiment with spatial, narrative and sequential qualities in her works. She moved to
Denver with her husband in 2007.
Marnie Powers-Torrey, running for Treasurer
Marnie Powers-Torrey holds an MFA in photography and is the Head of the Book Arts Program and Red Butte Press at the J. Willard
Marriott Library, University of Utah. Marnie teaches letterpress printing, artists books, photopolymer plate printing, alternative print-
ing techniques, and other book arts for the program. She has taught classes in photography and etching for the Department of Art
and Art History at the University of Utah. She prints limited-edition books for the Red Butte Press. Marnie has served as co-chair of
the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers since 2000. Her work is housed in private and public collections in the
United States.
Lang Ingalls, running for Newsletter Editor
