Cinpolis is a Mexican chain of movie theaters.

Its name means City of Cinema and its slogan


is La Capital del Cine (English: the Capital of Cinema).
Cinpolis is the biggest cineplex chain in Mexico with 205 theaters in 65 cities,
[1]
and they have
become the largest chain in Latin America and the fourth largest in the world with over 230
theaters, 3,000 screens and over 27,177 employees throughout Mexico, Guatemala, El
Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, India and the United States.
Enrique Ramrez Villaln founded the 'Cine Morelos' in Morelia, Michoacn, Mexico in 1947. Years
later, the company was rebranded as Cinematogrfica Cadena de Oro, S.A. opening theaters in
Salamanca, Acmbaro and Guanajuato. By 1971, the brand had already expanded to Mexico City
with the opening of 'Cine La Raza'. In 1972 Cinemas Gemelos was born and by 1973 the national
expansion as Multicinemas began. In 1994 the company was rebranded Cinpolis with the first
multiplex-style theaters in Tijuana and in 1999, Cinpolis VIP was created. It is also known to be
the biggest cinema chain in Mexico.
Cinpolis VIP
Cinpolis VIP was created in 1999 with the aim to offer a more comfortable and intimate
experience to the Cinpolis clients. It is considered as one of the pioneers on developing the
Luxury Cinema concept. So far, 28 Cinpolis VIP Theaters have been opened throughout Mexico
and four outside of the country, located in Guatemala City, San Jos, Panama City. And as of July
22, 2011, San Diego, CA, they plan to open seven more theaters in Southern California before
expanding into Northern California and then across the United States. Cinpolis VIP have been
known for their menus and services, offering a wide range of foods and drinks as well as having
special lounges such as Sushi VIP, Dulceria VIP, Bar VIP, Cinecaf VIP and Baguis VIP.
In 2009-2010, Cinpolis VIP has had a little change on the seats, making it more comfortable, and
with a button to call a waiter.
Cineticket
Cineticket was created in 1997, it gave users the chance to buy their tickets online without the
pressure of the queues. Became the first online theater ticket-selling-system in Mexico.
Cinpolis 4DX
On June 2, 2011, Cinpolis invested $25 million and partnered with the South Korean company, CJ
Group, to open 11 4DX theaters throughout Mexico, due to the success of the technology. 4DX
features motion seats, wind effects, water and air spray, and odors with over 100 scents. It first
opened at the Plaza Acoxpa mall in Mexico City with the release of Disney's Pirates of the
Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. On July 1, 2012, Cinpolis installed a new 4DX theater in Brazil. It
opened at the JK Iguatemi shopping mall in So Paulo with the release of Prometheus and Ice Age:
Continental Drift, as South America's first theater with the 4DX technology.[8] It is the launch
customer in the Western Hemisphere and is currently the second largest customer with a total of
13 4DX theaters throughout Mexico and 17 total 4DX theaters throughout Latin America.

International
Locations of Cinpolis.
Cinpolis began its international expansion opening theaters in the capitals of Guatemala, El
Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama and later taking over Bogot, Colombia. So far, 11 theaters have
been opened outside of Mexico, under the Cinpolis brands with a planned expansion to Peru with
the opening of a 14" screen theater in Lima, another one in Cali, Colombia and a third in
Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Cinepolis has made a blueprint to operate 500 screens in India with an
investment of Rs 1,500 crore and the result is the signing of deals with 12 developers in eight cities
for setting up 110 screens in the first phase. There are also plans to enter into deals with
developers for creating 200 more screens across India by 2010. Cinepolis is already operating in
India at Amritsar, Pune, Bangalore, Patna, Ahmedabad, Surat, Bhopal, Ludhiana, Mangalore,
Jaipur, Hyderabad, Hubli, Thane, Vijayawada and Mumbai.It is also scheduled to open in Guwahati,
Vadodara, Ahmedabad (second property), Surat (Second Property), Kochi, Nagpur and
Ghaziabad.Cinepolis is having the Largest Cinepolis Megaplex in Pune with 15 screens and opening
a Megaplex at Viviana Mall Thane with 14 screens with IMAX and 4DX.Cinepolis also has its sub-
brand in India known has Cinemastar it was opened in the year December 2010 in Thane.

Cinpolis Foundation
Since 2003, Organizacin Ramrez created the Cinpolis Foundation to help unprivileged people
get medical healthcare as well as education and services to the local communities. Their mission is
to contribute to social justice in Mexico through visual health programs. In 2007 they were
awarded for "International Accomplishment in Exhibition" for their work to promote the activism
within the Mexican community. Their program, "Del Amor Nace la Vista" (The Sight is born from
Love) has been recognised as "The Best Practice in Social Responsibility".[16] They have signed
association deals with 12 organizations in Mexico.

cerca de 90% de sus utilidades, y es por ello que pas de tener 1,000 salas en 2003 a 3,000 en
2012 en 10 pases.
2.Conocer a tu pblico: Para vender no basta con tener una gran idea y que sta empate con las
necesidades de tu cliente potencial, debe ser revolucionaria e incluso crear una nueva necesidad.
"Ha sido necesario adecuar nuestra oferta de alimentos segn la demanda del pblico, pero
hemos buscado ir un paso adelante; por ejemplo, ahora en los mens de nuestras nuevas salas de
lujo tenemos alimentos que son gourmet y muy fciles de comer en la obscuridad", explica el
directivo.
No olvides el factor sorpresa: De las 3,000 salas de Cinpolis, 1,651 son digitales,
8 son IMAX,52 son formato Macro XE y 14 tienen posibilidad de proyectar en 4D.
Esta tecnologa an no est desarrollada en Estados Unidos, incluso los grandes
ejecutivos de las distribuidoras de filmes han viajado a Mxico a conocer este
formato. "El factor sorpresa es sin duda un objetivo que no debe perderse de
vista", afirma Alejandro Ramrez.
Cinpolis tiene presencia en 76 ciudades en Mxico, cinco en Centroamrica, 19
en Sudamrica, ocho en Asia y tres en Estados Unidos. Recibe 119.4 millones de
asistentes al ao y tiene 63.11% de participacin en el mercado mexicano.


The business strategy of the fourth theater chain globally, also has to do with a number of
principles:
1.The accelerated growth is achieved only when a virtuous circle is created: Cinepolis reinvests
about 90% of their profits, and that is why he went from having 1,000 rooms in 2003 to 3,000 in
2012 in 10 countries.
