A once proud football town in Sayreville, NJ is now in shock as its high school
football team canceled the rest of their season. This is coming after multiple
accusations of bullying, and harassment amongst the players.
Sayreville school officials made the announcement during a meeting that
involved the players and their families. Some parents were outraged about the
cancellation, saying that its ruining the kids chances for possible scholarships and
NFL careers. According to one official, many freshman players lived in fear of the
juniors and seniors, and would race back to the locker room, change and leave
before the older kids returned.
Those involved in the hazing have not been identified, as the investigation is
ongoing. For WKNJ-FM News, this is Nick Buonvicino signing off.
