Case 1: 2 point loads of 404.00 KN on each of the 2 foundation walls (4 point loads in total) The 4 loads are perpendicular to the foundation walls and their direction is such that they push each foundation walls outwards Case 2: 2 point loads of 404.00 KN on each of the 2 foundation walls (4 point loads in total) The 4 loads are perpendicular to the foundation walls and they act in the same direction (along the X positive axis) Case 3: 2 point loads of 404.00 KN on 1 of the 2 foundation walls (2 point loads in total) The 2 loads are perpendicular to the foundation wall and their direction is such that they push the wall outwards (along the X positive axis) Case 4: 2 point loads of 808.00 KN on 1 of the 2 foundation walls (2 point loads in total) The 2 loads are perpendicular to the foundation wall and their direction is such that they push the wall outwards (along the X positive axis)
The Analysis of Foundation Box and Walls Case 1: The analysis of this structure is made using SAP2000 structural engineering software. The software is programmed to design the reinforcement of the walls when all the geometrical and material properties are provided. The loading of the structure and the reinforcement provided by the program after the analysis are illustrated in the figures below (note: the reinforcement (in cm 2 ) is given for the bottom and top face of one of the walls, and for each face the horizontal (1) and vertical (2) reinforcement are provided):
As it can be seen from the figures the reinforcement required is very small. While the deflections of the loaded joints are given in the table and figure below:

The software is programmed to design the reinforcement of the walls when all the geometrical and material properties are provided. The loading of the structure and the reinforcement, for top and bottom face of the wall, provided by the program after the analysis are illustrated in the figures below:
As it can be seen from the figures the reinforcement required is very small. While the deflections of the loaded joints are given in the table below: TABLE: Joint Displacements Joint OutputCase CaseType U1 U2 U3 Text Text Text mm mm mm 51548 DEAD LinStatic 0.267722 0.005049 -0.019979 51611 DEAD LinStatic 0.259243 -0.004046 -0.020372 51836 DEAD LinStatic 0.260555 -0.006128 -0.042406 51899 DEAD LinStatic 0.25204 0.006686 -0.042438
Case 3: In this case only the horizontal forces in one wall are considered.
As it can be seen from the figures the reinforcement required is very small. While the deflections of the loaded joints are given in the table below: TABLE: Joint Displacements Joint OutputCase CaseType U1 U2 U3 Text Text Text mm mm mm 51548 DEAD LinStatic 0.043 0.00154 -0.02677 51611 DEAD LinStatic 0.03889 -0.0006 -0.02709 51836 DEAD LinStatic 0.22114 -0.00404 -0.03798 51899 DEAD LinStatic 0.21676 0.00477 -0.03813
Case 4: In this case similarly to case 3 only one of the walls is loaded, but the force is now twice as much as it was in the other cases, suggesting that the whole horizontal load is supported by one wall.
As it can be seen from the figures the reinforcement required is very small. While the deflections of the loaded joints are given in the table below: TABLE: Joint Displacements Joint OutputCase CaseType U1 U2 U3 Text Text Text mm mm mm 51548 DEAD LinStatic 0.08242 0.00363 -0.02235 51611 DEAD LinStatic 0.07417 -0.00251 -0.02278 51836 DEAD LinStatic 0.44586 -0.00755 -0.04478 51899 DEAD LinStatic 0.43711 0.00822 -0.04485
