SKILLS
ACADEMY OF ART UNIVERSITY
SEPT 2003 - JUNE 2005
Received BFA in textile design. Studied fashion design, and textile design. Consistently
receiving high marks, and praise from instructors. On several occasions my designs were
chosen for shows, as well as displayed around the campus for department examples.
Was originally brought on as the team textile designer where I supported the team with
my skills in trend forward print design, specing, and repeat set up for all brands including
our licensed brands Carters, and Disney, as well as designed collections for the various
brands. After a year I was promoted to the owner and senior designer of the Kidsline
brand and am responsible for all bedding print and coordinating product designs, trend
boards, artwork specs, color pitching, sampling, and production approvals for the brand,
as well as continually brainstorming new innovative ideas. Collections I have designed
have got the company placement on large online sites such as Amazon, Walmart.com,
Baby Supermall, and more. As well as collections placed in Target retail stores.
In the close to 4 years as a freelance designer I worked for various companies in the San
Francisco Bay Area including Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, Williams
Sonoma, and Banana Republic womens. I took on many design and design related tasks
such as print design, yarn dye design, artwork clean up, repeat set up, artwork spec set
up and product spec set up for production, recoloring, and color pitching.
I was on a team of CAD designers where we worked hand and hand with the designers
on licensed brands creating artwork, prints, yarn dyes, bedding ideas, specing art and
product, repeat set up, cleaning artwork, color pitching, sample production, and trend
boards.
