MERITS:
Introvert type of planning with respect to consideration of past, traditional aspect in modern terms and
thus creating a feeling of unified cluster which is full of variety in form, space and movement.
The site planning is simple and straight forward, with a grand entrance foyer leading to high image ability.
Scale of the building ,their combination is not imposing but has balanced quality.
Since the blocks are in clusters but the cluster dominance is there but keeping the whole layout in
balanced quality.
The activities going in the central open are reflected by the glazed administration block.
The academic block gives the feeling of conventional building but on the other hand, the use of large glass
area with white finished wall gives a feeling of modern building.
The angular placement of building blocks provides an attractive 3-dimensional elevation from each side.
Interiors had been worked out with different materials, creating interest in learning environment.
Interactive zones like kund, amphitheater, bridges, lounges and basket ball court have been very well
incorporated, keeping in view the environment of design institute.
DEMERITS:
Basement which is designed as parking is not used and
nowbeen converted into offices and multipurpose halls.
The terraces designed by the architect at the upper floor
along with labs are not of much use during summer days.
Windows in academic block and library causes glare and
heat gain in the hot summers.
Form allow future expansion, neither vertical, nor
horizontal.
The open court lacks in attracting the gatherings due to the
harsh climate.
On surface parking is not sufficient.
