2. Manage your teams priorities.
3. Make progress updates.
4. Troubleshoot dates and risks.

2. Manage your teams priorities
In priority-based scheduling (http://www.liquidplanner.com/support/articles/priority-based-scheduling), it all comes
down to team members working on tasks in the correct order of priority. You might have an intuitive sense of this
already, but making it transparent in LiquidPlanner will skyrocket your teams productivity.
On the Projects tab, Filter (http://www.liquidplanner.com/support/articles/lters) to each member that youre
managing and make sure that their tasks are in priority order from top to bottom. When they log in and check their
active tasks, they will see their work in the priority order you have set for them.
Look at the Remaining Effort column (/support/articles/your-personal-columns-display/) to check that all of the
tasks have been estimated. Its important to capture these effort estimates so that LiquidPlanner can provide you with
an accurate schedule.

3. Make progress updates
You likely have your own tasks in LiquidPlanner. Be a role model and make your project updates (log progress
(http://www.liquidplanner.com/support/articles/logging-progress) and re-estimate
(http://www.liquidplanner.com/support/articles/estimating-in-ranges)) on a daily basis. To learn how, complete the
QuickStart for Members (/support/articles/quickstart-members).
Add comments (http://www.liquidplanner.com/support/articles//support/comments) and respond to questions
and remarks in LiquidPlanner to collaborate with your team in one central place.
4. Troubleshoot dates and risks
Watch the Scheduling Options (//fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/7awkz07lda?popover=true) video to learn about
deadlines, delays, and dependencies.
In your workspace, scan through each projects schedule. Do you have any alerts (/support/articles/alerts/)? Have
any of your schedule bars turned red? If so, its time to take action.
Ask yourself:
Has progress been updated?
Are remaining work estimates correct?
Is the project (or critical tasks) prioritized correctly?
Can you bring more resources into the mix?
Can you cut scope?
Is the deadline date realistic or does it need to be moved out?
Based on the answers, you can start to communicate your mitigation plan to the people it affects.
5. Tackle changes

5. Scheduling
Multiple Projects (//fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/1wp8u254dk?popover=true)
Most teams are dealing with a constantly changing landscape: new project requests, change orders, hot items,
interruptions the list goes on.
Use the Inbox
It can be helpful to have a holding bin for those items, along with a clearly dened process for addressing them.
Maybe its a weekly team meeting or a daily responsibility to triage and delegate items. Take time to correctly assign
owners and enter estimates to these Inbox (/support/articles/the-inbox/) items and then move each one into the
appropriate project folder. This will show you their effect on the entire schedule.
Use Priority Packages
Your
workspace owner may have created one or more priority packages. These priority packages will allow you to
prioritize tasks from different projects so you can work on multiple projects concurrently. For instance, you might
need to work a task from project A, then one from project C, then one from project B. Packaging up these individual
tasks to a priority package is the best way to model this.
Watch the Scheduling Multiple Projects (//fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/1wp8u254dk?popover=true) video to
learn how to use packages (http://www.liquidplanner.com/support/articles/packages/) to organize and prioritize your
work.
6. Check your Personal Prole Settings
Visit your Personal Prole Settings to make sure that everything is set up correctly. Click on your Avatar menu in the
upper right and select My Prole (/support/articles/your-personal-prole-settings/).
Make sure that your Availability reects the number of hours per day that youll spend on project work scheduled
in LiquidPlanner.
Upload an avatar (it could be a picture of yourself, your favorite cartoon character, or even a movie star).
