MICROCAT

Products - FAQ

What Does "Microcat" Mean?

MICROCAT means microbial catalyst. MICROCAT products are used on wastewaters, sludges and soils. The addition
of MICROCAT products to your biological waste treatment system can enhance the capability of your system to break down
difficult-to-degrade wastes and to handle highly variable waste treatment conditions.

What Are Microcat Products And How Do They Perform?

MICROCAT products are a unique combination of specialized naturally-occurring microbes and other ingredients. They can
help to promote waste treatment levels at or below compliance requirements while saving operating expenses. Powdered
activated carbon, when included, acts as a buffer by absorbing toxic and inhibitory compounds while providing an inert
growth support for specialized microbial strains.

What Types Of Systems/Wastes Are Treatable?

Each MICROCAT product is formulated from a wide selection of microbes to meet the demands of specific soil, domestic or
industrial waste treating situations. They can be used in biological treatment systems ranging from activated sludge to
trickling filters, from biodiscs to oxygen activated sludge and on wastes ranging from chlorinated aromatics to ammonia.
Bioremedial soil treatment programs can be enhanced and accelerated using the MICROCAT product line, including
microbes (XBS), nutrients (NPN, NP,P), wetting agents (SH/SL) and pH control (PH) products.

What Are The Key Advantages And Benefits?

Added directly to the treatment/remediation system without prehydration.
Packaged in preweighed, easy-to-use, water soluble packets.
Reduce the cost of other chemical additives.
Inexpensive to apply.
Long shelf-life.
Wide range of formulations available.
Formulated for emergency response.
Improved ammonia oxidation.
Stabilized system operation.
Safe, easy-to-use and handle.

Are They Expensive To Use?

NO! MICROCAT products are the most cost effective products of their type on the market today. For less than one cent per
thousand gallons treated, MICROCAT products can help to stabilize the operation of your biotreater and enhance the
removal of difficult-to-degrade organic substances. With no messy, time-consuming soaking or pre-adaptation steps,
MICROCAT can save you time and money. For bioremediation applications, MICROCAT products generally cost less than
one cent per pound of soil treated.
