Voice Recognition Based Security System For Homes
Abstract
The project aims in the design of a voice operated system wherein a person sitting in a computer
simply keeps commanding the PC through voice in the computers voice input. The computer on
hearing the voice processes the same gives suitable controls to different processes.
The PC uses a dedicated software for getting the sound input and processing the same to analyze the
different sound inputs. The user has to once set up the microphone and other accessories for proper
input of the sound signal. The computer gives suitable control signals to the hardware below and the
hardware controls the devices accordingly.
The project houses a high speed microcontroller, Pc interfacing circuits and device control circuits
for operation. The microcontroller receives data from the PC and performs necessary operations.
The microcontroller used is a high Speed PIC microcontroller (PIC 18LF45K22) for fault free
operation. It has a variety of advantages over conventional old microcontrollers such as RISC
architecture, larger memory word, fast operation and a host of inbuilt features such as ADC,
communication protocols etc.,.
The project can be used to control any external environment where in the person may like to control
all his surroundings such as fans, lights, TVs, etc; He may also like to open the door for someone or
close the water tap. All these can be done by using simple voice commands and the person has to
just utter words in the PC.
This would be highly helpful for the disabled and for even common man who has a lot of things to do
in hand and also on computer. This would also be helpful for people who are of high illness or
accident victims who cannot move nor do operations. The same project can be extended to perform
operations on wheel chair or control machines, etc. This project can also make use of wireless
communication technologies like RF or ordinary RF communication using which even a whole home
can be controlled from one location without using wires to each and every room from the computer

1. Automation can be possible may be a wired/wireless but not in voice

Proposed System
2. In the Proposed system, voice command is used to control the devices so it is highly efficient
for disable people.
2. Wireless communication is used, so that we can automate the device from a specific place
