Greenhouse Emission Monitoring Using GSM
Abstract
Greenhouse gases have become a nightmare for the planet and there are a lot of plans for reducing
the gases. Still there are a lot of places where the guidelines are not strictly adhered to. Further in
India there is no fool proof mechanism to continuously monitor the emissions and make a proper
data out of it.
The project proposes a solution wherein the green house emissions in industry are monitored form a
central place such as pollution control board or from environment analyst. But the problem in
monitoring all these industries lies in the connectivity as they all are located at different places of
the country, some even in very remote places. Hence a suitable communication medium is to be
developed.
In this project greenhouse gases such as methane are monitored dynamically from the GSM modem
and the user can at any time have a watch of these parameters from any remote place using his
mobile phone. Further if any parameter fails, the system shuts of the total operation and it
immediately sends a sms message to the user. This gives easy and fast response from the user to put
the machine back in order.
Hence any person from any far off place can communicate with the GSM modem to know the green
house gas status. It can be made to automatically and periodically send the emission details of the
industry to more than one person also. Thus the monitoring method will greatly prevent industries
from not adhering the proper pollution control norms.


Existing System
1. In the existing system, the industries have an alarm for intimating workers about hazardous
gases.
2. The person will not be aware of gas leakage if he is not in that place.

Proposed System
1. Green house gases can be monitored with the help of GSM modem.
2. The alert will be given in the form of SMS message, so that the user can put the machine back
in order.
