Citrawarna also known as Colours of 1 Malaysia held on 25
th
May 2013 at Dataran
Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur. It returns for another year of showcasing the best of what
Malaysia has to offer and to prove that colours and cultures always have a correlation
with one another in most festivals in Malaysia.Founded in 1999 to reflect the rich
cultures that Malaysia represents, the event has since spread awareness of Malaysias
artistic, geological and cultural gems to many parts of the world.The yearly event
celebrated every May, to unite various states of the nation in one single place to portray
their culture and lifestyle. One can use this opportunity to see shows presented by
different ethnic races of this multicultural country.One can also get the experience of
seeing various talents and cultural performances exhibited on one solo stage or floor
where all the nook and corner of Malaysia gets bonded.During this festival there will be
traditional dances, parades, exhibitions, traditional costumes and jewelleries and many
more events that will bring together all the different races in Malaysia. Each ethnic
Malaysian community will showcase their traditional and customary individuality in
costumes, head gears, traditional dance and music, art and craftwork and also
traditional cuisine and delicacies and many more.Depicted as a premier cultural
extravaganza by Ministry of Tourism and Tourism Malaysia, the festive brings in joy in
every Malaysians soul as one can see all the arts and dance performances of the
country under one roof.

1Malaysia Contemporary Art Tourism Festival
Entering its third year, the festival, aims to establish Malaysia as a hub for
contemporary art in the region by showcasing the works of local artists. The
collaboration of art galleries, museums, state governments, embassies and educational
institutions, NGOs and the private sector is also helping to promote the event
extensively.The main highlights of the festival will be several exhibitions showcasing
exciting and vibrant works by some of the best internationally-acclaimed Malaysian
artists, both young and established personalities . Art exhibitions around the country will
also be showcased at several venues. Those attending the Rainforest World Music
Festival from 13 to 15 July at the Sarawak Cultural Village will also get to see an art
exhibition, titled Sarawak Heritage.There will also be an art event at the Esplanade by
Kuantan River from the 14 to 15 July by the Persatuan Senilukis dan Senireka Melayu
Pajang (SENIKA) celebrating fine art, graffiti and mural art.Art students from institutions
of higher learning institutions will also be able to participate in an art tourism competition
with the theme, The Futurists.The competition aims to ensure a thriving and
sustainable art culture for the future. Handled by the Ministry of Tourism, Tourism
Malaysia, Balai Seni Visual Malaysia and Gabungan Persatuan Pelukis SeMalaysia
(GAPS).

Gawai Dayak Festival

Gawai Dayak Festival, is a harvest festival celebrated by the state's indigenous
people, particularly the Ibans and Bidayuhs, Sarawak. Melaka River Fiesta, Melaka
River, Melaka. Nasi Lemak 1 Malaysia Fest, Farmer's Market Precinct 2 (Tapak Pasar
Tani Presint 2), Putrajaya. Penang Floral Festival 2010, Botanical Gardens, Penang.
Malaysia Sports Carnival XIII, will be held in Melaka, Hang Jebat Stadium and other
Melaka's sports complexes. Tadau Kaamatan And Gawai Dayak Open House
Celebration, Sabah, A month-long festival, Tadau Kaamatan marks the end of the
harvesting season and the beginning of a new season. Sarawak, Gawai Dayak is
another colourful festival that reflects the traditions of the ethnic communities, Kuala
Lumpur. Fraser's Hill International Bird Race 2010, Fraser's Hill, Raub, Pahang. Super
GT International Series Malaysia, Sepang International Circuit (SIC), Selangor. 25th
Sabah Dragon Boat Race, Likas Bay, Sabah. San Pedro Festival, is one of the biggest
celebrations for the Malaysian Portuguese community in Melaka, Portuguese
Settlement, Melaka. Selangor Eco-Extreme Challenge, Hulu Langat, Selangor.

Fraser's Hill International Bird Race
It is organized by the Fraser's Hill Development Corporation of Pahang and usually co-
sponsored by the Malaysian Nature Society and
the Malaysian WWW for Nature.
For local and international birdwatchers can get to watch and see more than 260
species of birds, not only of the endemic and local varieties but also migratory birds.And
the bird communities found at Fraser's Hill range from the common to the exotic and the
extremely rare species.This event is actually a fun event where human participants and
nature lovers, from Malaysia and overseas, will outdo each other to sight, identify and
record the most number of bird species within a set time frame and location in this cool
highlands.
And so the basic requirements for participants in this fun nature event are a good pair of
eyes, ears, binoculars, perhaps a torchlight, a guidebook on birds, and a pen and
notebook to record the sightings. an avid birder will usually bring along his long-zoom
digital camera or video-camera to record his sightings.
But any person who previously never could tell a bird from a bat (or a squirrel, maybe..)
can take part in this educational and fun event. In fact every year the Fraser's Hill
International Bird Race has a few categories, where young children, students and family
groups can participate, with prizes awarded.

Melaka river fiesta
Melaka International River Fiesta was Inspired by the San Antonio River Festival
in USA and was held by Melaka River and Beach Development Corporation. This
events aim is to promote Melaka, especially the Melaka River and the monorail that
travel from Spice Garden to Dataran Hang Tuah. Enjoy the excitement of all the
activities programmed especially along Melaka River. There are a numbers of water
sports activities and two of the main events are held in the Float Parade and the Melaka
Parade Competition.

There are more than 100 events prepared for this event like dragon boat competitions,
water sports fiesta, King & Queen Snake Show, Malay cultural show, Indian &
Portuguese cultural show, decorative floats parade and many more.

Penang floral festival.


The annual Penang Floral Festival was from the 3
rd
of June to 10
th
of June 2012 at Penang
Botanical Garden. It is organized by the Penang State Tourism Development & Culture
Committee, Penang Art Society, FOMOS, Penag Floral Art Society, Malayan Nature Society and
Friends of Botanic Gardens.
Visitors and horticulture enthusiasts may participate in the various competitions and activities
which includes Talks on Fertilizers and Orchids, Canvas Shopping Bag Printing made from local
plants, Colors of Nature Childrens Programme and Leaf Craft Demonstration.
The highlight of the Festival is the Bonsai, Suiseki and Adenium Competition and Exhibition
with over 1,000 different plants All type of bonsai can be entered for the competition and
exhibition, except those exceeding 120 cm in height. Cash prizes worth RM10,000.00 awaits the
winners.
Aside from that, there will be retail outlets from all over Malaysia which will be promoting and
selling horticultural and landscape products such as Bonsai and Adenium plants.

Royal Langkawi International Regatta (RLIR)

The first Royal Langkawi International Regatta took place in the year 2003 which
was organized and hosted by the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club. Since then the regatta
has gained popularity within the yachters community all over the world and has been
established as a major sailing event in the region. Today RLIR has a separate
committee that organizes the regatta in conjunction with Malaysian Yachting
Association and under full patronage of Royal Langkawi Yacht Club which remains as
the main host.

The event takes place during the first quarter of the year (between Jan to March) for
several days and Yachters from all over the world come to Langkawi to compete in this
fascinating yacht race under various categories. In 2013 for example, over 40 sail boats
of different sizes and classes participated from over 12 different countries. There have
been a gathering of over 250 sailors and hundreds of yachting enthusiasts in the island.
the regatta involves two different race conditions - Kuah Harbor Race which takes place
on the Bass Harbor of Kuah town and offer windy condition with flat waters, and the
Coastal Race which offers strong windy conditions in choppy waters.

There are coveted prizes in different categories. For example Prime Minister's
Challenge Trophy (for Racing Class yachts), the Commodore's Challenge Cup (for
participants in club registered cruisers), the LADA-IRC Challenge Trophy (for
participants in IRC 1 Class), the Langkawi Sports Trophy (for participants in Sports Boat
Class) and the Malaysian Multi-hull Challenge Cup (for participants under the Multihull
category - Catamarans, Trimarans etc).

PERTANDINGAN WAU/ LAYANG-LAYANG SEMPENA FESTIVAL
LAYANG-LAYANG SEDUNIA PASIR GUDANG KE-18, 2013


Festival ini anjuran Kerajaan Negeri Johor melalui Majlis Perbandaran Pasir
Gudang (MPPG) dengan kerjasama Jabatan Pelancongan Negeri Johor, Jabatan
Kebudayaan Dan Kesenian Negara Negeri Johor, Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri Johor dan
Persatuan Pelayang Johor . Bukit Layang-layang yang terletak di Taman Bandar, Pasir
Gudang merupakan satu-satunya tapak permainan layang-layang yang telah diiktiraf di
peringkat antarabangsa dan menjadi tumpuan lebih 10,000 pengunjung tempatan dan
luar negara yang datang untuk menyaksikan festival layang-layang setiap tahun.
Kontinjen Kelantan sekali lagi dinobatkan juara keseluruhan Festival Layang-Layang
Sedunia Pasir Gudang Ke-18. Acara selama lima hari itu disertai sebanyak 836
pelayang dari 36 negara termasuk China, Australia, New Zealand, Amerika Syarikat,
Jepun, Indonesia dan Brunei serta empat negara peserta baharu iaitu Colombia, Rusia,
Ukraine dan Zambia. Selain dapat mencapai objektif pertandingan, program sebegini
juga merupakan sebahagian daripada proses pembentukan jati diri pensyarah dan
pelajar Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan. Pertandingan layang-layang sedunia ini merupakan
acara tahunan dalam kalendar Negeri Johor .

George Town Festival
George Town Festival is a month-long festival that has turned into a proudly
Penang arts institution. From its start as a series of arts and culture events in
celebration of George Towns listing as a UNESCO Heritage Site in 2008, George Town
Festival was mooted and celebrated its first inauguration in 2010.
Since then, we have had the privilege of hosting spectacular events spanning the arts
from world-class performances to cross-cultural creative collaborations, experimental
art, traditional and contemporary performing arts, as well as exciting local community
initiatives and public installations.its mission is to become the platform for culture and
the arts in South-East Asia, with a focus on George Towns unique perspectives. For
the festival month, the city becomes a canvas where performers and audiences
transform spaces within it with venues ranging from auditoriums to five-foot ways,
colonial shop-houses to sidewalk galleries.
The festival continues to offer the best possible experience through our core beliefs of
Collaboration, Community, Reinvention and Accessibility, intriguing audiences with our
various free and ticketed events.
George Town Festival 2014 will take place during the entire month of August.

Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2014


Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2014 is exciting event is open to the public from the
27th to the 30th March 2014 and held at Precinct 2 at Purtrajaya. This year, a total of 18
unique balloons from around the world will be on display and among the spectacular
shaped ones to look out for are the Darth Vader Hot Air Balloon, a Racing Motorcycle
Hot Air Balloon, an Ice Cream Cone Hot Air Balloon and a Heart Shaped Hot Air
Balloon.Previous years saw many other unique shapes like a Doraemon, a Giant Tree
and also A Farmhouse Hot Air Balloon. Based on the public demand, the Doraemon Hot
Air Balloon was one of the most popular ones and many are curious on why Doraemon
did not make it this time around. Balloonist from the USA, UK, Taiwan, Hong Kong,
Korea, Spain, France, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Belgium and not forgetting our
own one from Malaysia piloted by Mohd. Sobri Saad. The Malaysian Hot Air Balloon will
be a standard type balloon which is green and yellow in color too. There is also a meet
the balloonist session therefore you should check with the timing and where they will be.
there are many other activities that are happening throughout the weekend which
include Ballon shows and performances, Night glow, helicopter joy rides, tethered hot
air ballon rides, Photography competition and many more.
