Notice inviting quotations

Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture (RGCA), an aquaculture R&D arm of the Marine
Products Export Development Authority, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of
India, hereby request quotations from dealers/manufacturers for re-circulating aquaculture
system components for its various projects in India. The following components are required:

1. Combined Beadfilter & Bio-filter units: 5 numbers
2. UV Sterilizers: 5 numbers
3. Saltwater Pumps: 10 numbers
4. Various air & pipe fittings: As per the requirement

SPECIFICATION AND DETAILS FOR RECIRCULATION AQUACULTURE SYSTEM
indicated below are for two projects of RGCA viz. Aquatic Quarantine Facility & L.
Vannamei Multiplication Centre
Please Provide separate bids as under
Aquatic Quarantine Facility (AQF):
1) Six Clean & Clear Canister filters with 20-micron filter elements
2) Three Media Baskets, (to match the above canisters)
3) Three High Output UV 80watt 230v 50Hz,
4) One High Output 120watt UV, 230V 50Hz,
5) Ten Float Switches, Pump-Down, High Power-230V-50Hz, 15amps,
6) One Complete Saltwater Ozone Treatment System, , rated 100gpm @ 55ft head,
including Speece cone contactor, venturi, 30gr/hr generator and all fittings, plus
consumable spare parts to cover a minimum of one year maintenance. 230V @
50Hz
7) Five 2HP Pump, Single-Phase 230V-50Hz, 50mm-In/Out, rated 50gpm @ 25ft
head, plus One Spare impeller & Five replacement O-ring/seal kits including the
mechanical shaft seals.

8) Six 2.5HP/3HP Pump, Single-Phase 230V-50Hz, 63mm-In/Out, rated 75gpm @
30ft head, plus One Spare impeller & Six replacement O-ring/seal kits including
mechanical shaft seals.
9) Two Regenerative Air Blowers, rated 160cfm @ 50 inches of water, 3Phase
415V-50Hz.
10) Six USA pipe size 2" PVC Flow Sensors, (to control chillers & Main-UVs)
11) Twelve USA pipe size PVC 2" Swing Check Valve, (Clear)
12) Eighteen USA pipe size PVC 2" True Union Ball Valve,

L.vannamei Multiplication Centre
1) FIVE Beadfilter & Biofilter in a single unit with automatic backwash driven by air,
NO ELECTRONICS, using plastic bead media, able to remove 225 grams TAN/day at a flow
rate no greater than 225gpm, constructed out of FRP or corrosion resistant materials and
Titanium screens & hardware, no alloys of copper can be used.
2) FOUR Ultraviolet Sterilizers, 230V sized for 33K microwatts/cm2 @ 170gpm flow
rate and TWO UV Sterilizer, sized for 33K microwatts/cm2 @ 225gpm flow rate
constructed with PVC HOUSING, Hard Quartz bulb sleeves and low pressure, hard quartz
glass bulbs with a minimum of 9000 hours use to a minimum of 60% output.
3a) FOUR Titanium Heat Pump Pack, rated 223K btu, including heat exchanger,
controller, reversing valves and with 6m long temperature sensor probe, (Heat Pump less
Compressor) , 415V-50Hz 3-Phase.

b) TWO Titanium Heat Pump Pack, rated 175K btu, including heat exchanger,
controller, reversing valves and with 6m long temperature sensor probe, (Heat Pump less
Compressor), 415V-50Hz 3-Phase.
4a) THREE Main Intake pumps sized for 380Lpm, (100gpm), @ 29m, (96ft.), TDH, 3-
phase 415V, 50Hz For Saltwater use, any metal must be 316SS or Titanium, copper or
copper alloys cannot be used.
b) FOUR Recirc collection pump sized for 852Lpm, (225gpm), @ 11m, (36ft.), TDH.
Can be 3-phase 415V, 50Hz, For Saltwater use, any metal must be 316SS or Titanium,
Copper or copper alloys cannot be used.
c) THREE Ozone circulation pumps rated minimum of 568LPM, (150GPM), @ 21m,
(70ft), TDH. Can be 3-phase 415V, 50Hz, For Saltwater use, any metal must be 316SS or
Titanium, Copper or copper alloys cannot be used.
NOTE: All above pumps must have Strainer/Priming Pots. Any metal on pumps must be
316SS or Titanium.
5a) FOURTY-FIVE each Fine Bubble Air Diffusers for degassing, 1 x 1 w/ 3/16
OD PE barb fitting rated @ 0.25cfm each rated for OXYGEN/OZONE use.
b) FIVE 100ft. rolls of 3/16 ID Vinyl Air Line Tubing.
c) PVC Fittings for the above Filters, UV & Heat Pump connections that will provide
USA or Metric sized FEMALE socket connections. No threaded connections. If Flanged
fittings, please provide Van Stone type Flanges w/gasket & Stainless Steel bolt sets
PLUS:
FOURTY each 2-USA size x 63mm-Indian size PVC slip coupling adapters
THIRTY each 4-USA size x 110mm-Indian size PVC slip coupling adapters
6) 3720 kg Crushed Glass, (Filter Grade), Screen size #40 - (for Sand filter media)
Attn to Bidders:
1. The price offered/quoted shall be exclusive of freight, packing and
forwarding charges.
2. Quotations must be accompanied by proof of financial credit worthiness
from a Government recognized Bank of the respective country, capability
to transport goods to Chennai port, India and demonstrate past experience
in providing quality materials & service to other large scale
internationally recognized aquaculture projects & facilities against
purchase order through letter of credit.

3. Quotation along with proof of above documented capabilities should
reach the following address in a on or before 10th August 2012.
4. The Quantities indicated against the items/materials are approximate and
RGCA reserves the right to alter the quantities at the time of placing the
order.

RGCA reserves the right to reject any or all Tender without assigning any
reason whatsoever.
