Jesus Christ, Son of God
Hi, its me, Kathy Wooten, with a quick update. :) What an exceptional group of people I get to
work with here and around the world, amazing people who inspire me to love Jesus more, let go of
lesser things that do not satisfy (the Bible talks about that all over it). This group of people who I
pursue Jesus with helps me dig deeper into God and go after Him more wholeheartedly. I value
that highly and I know that I could not do that as well by myself. I just encourage you, if you have
a group that you can go wholeheartedly after God with, do it consistently and all out. If you don't
have a group, get one, find one or start one and do it consistently and all out.
During our Salvation Prayer Set on Tuesdays, 10am-12pm, we pray for the ladies, staff
and other inmates at our jail and others that don't know Jesus yet. We have been going deep into
John 8, the story of the woman caught in adultery and Jesus amazing encounter with her. He saw
her and got rid of her accusers and then He, the only One Who could rightfully condemn her,
spoke to herjust Him and herand said Then neither do I condemn you, go now and leave
your life of sin. That is what we want to hear Jesus say. That is one of the prayers for our jail and
lost people that their accusers would be silenced and that they would encounter Jesus just
them and Himso they can choose freely, for or against Him. As we encounter Him, He gives us
the power to actually leave our life of sin, regardless of what our sin looks like, we all have it and
we all need Jesus so much. So that is one thing we have been doing, going deeper into His word,
personally and corporately.
We are also seeking God for a bigger prayer room to welcome more people and to serve
God more fully. We are praying and looking into possible locations here in Wilmore. We have
started a discipleship group on Mondays, 1:30-3pm, especially for the ladies after they are released
from jail. We continue to offer live prayer sets throughout the week: Mondays for our local area,
11am-1pm, Tuesdays for salvation, 10am-noon and a devotional worship time, 7pm-8pm.
Wednesdays, folks can call for an appointment to receive healing prayer. Thursdays, we offer a
class on Israel, 10:00-11:30 am and then a prayer set for our folks on the mission field, noon-2pm.
Jail church is at 7pm on Thursdays. Fridays there is Worship with the Word, 8-10pm. The rest of
the time, M-Th, we have worship from Kansas City House of Prayer (ihop-kc.org) playing in our
prayer room 9am-9pm. Fridays we are open until midnight. We are here to give people a place to
come and enjoy God. My heart is to be so faithful to my day-to-day activities here at the house of
prayer, loving and serving Jesus, and also to love and serve people, here and all over. Our lives
really matter. How we live really makes a difference so God bless us to not give up. Its like
what Abe Lincoln said, Whatever you are be a good one.
Dont give up!
Kathy Wooten :)

I have not been a very good wide re-
I think God has been teaching me that I have not been a very good team player at the wide receiver
position. Christine, serving in Honduras, just recently came to the States to share what she is doing
and see if anyone wanted to team up with her as she serves Jesus at Hospital Loma de Luz. She really
inspired me. A sign of maturity is to ask for what we need and then to receive it graciously. I am not
good at that and I want to get better. If I, as a football wide receiver, kept telling my quarterback that I
was just waiting for him to pass me the ball, and/or I threw it back every time I got a pass, I wouldn't
play very much and I wouldn't be a good team player. So, I am sorry I have not let folks know about my
needs and have tried to figure it out on my own. That is not how a team operates. So, I really do repent
of that. It is healthy and mature to express needs and then to have no expectations, but trust God to meet
those needs however He sees fit. My part is to let my needs be known and to actively wait for Him to
meet them (in all sorts of ways). So, I will, because I love Him and I want to be mature and effective.
I will be on the lookout for Gods vast resources and creative ways to do that along with my work at
Frito-Lay.
I am hoping to increase my support by $600/mo. I want to share with folks what I am doing
here at CI-HOP and see if they would like to team up with me. If you would like me to share person-
ally with you, please contact me. I will be so glad to set up a time to do that. I will be speaking to
folks who are on my support team already just to express my appreciation for being such great team-
mates in the midst of my weakness and growth. I am so grateful to Jesus and to you for the 8 years I
have been on this team. I greatly value you and your prayers.

I just want to Thank Jesus, for knowing me so well I have fallen and am falling in
love with Jesus, as much as I try to ignore, fight, or make myself believe, oh thats
not Him Hes not there or He dont love me, How could He? What a person Ive
been. I hear, He who is without sin, let him cast the 1st stone.
-an inmates testimony in our prayer request book
Isnt that beautiful? That is what we want for us and for them, to have
fallen and be falling in love with Jesus. We got to give this lady a Bible that some of
your support helped us buy and she said, I will use this Bible for the rest of my life.
How encouraging to us for her to use those words, He who is without sin let him
throw the 1st stone - just what we had been praying for at least 2 months for them.
We did share it at the jail, but not on that day. God had been speaking to her and she
was hearing Him and falling in love with Him. That is where lasting change comes
from. That lady in the Bible surely did leave her life of sin and fall in love with Jesus
that very day. That is what we want for all of us.

As a community, we are studying a book
called Joy Starts Here by Dr Jim Wilder (He
will be speaking at our Summit , Summer of
2015. We have a Summit every 5 years for
all of our staff around the worlda week
long event here in Wilmore). Anyway, the
book has been good so far and I am learn-
ing a lot. Here are some highlights from
Chapter 1:
The interactive presence of God
(Immanuel) maintains peace
Tender responses to weakness are the
rule
Joy means someone is glad to be with
me. Jesus is always glad to be with me
(all of us not just me. :) )
The one that I have really been trying to
grasp is tender responses to weakness in
myself and others and to think about Jesus
having a tender response to weakness in
myself and others.
