Professor Youngjin Yim, along with two associate professors of the department of
Anthropology(Professors Jinseon Jo & Minkoo Kim), is currently working on a number of
archaeological projects that focus on comparative research on prehistoric and ancient East
Asia cultures. The previous research has shed light on the developments of ancient states in
Korea, as well as the cultural exchange and diffusion across a wider region that encompasses
northeastern and southern China, Japan, and Indonesia. Trade exchange, resistance, and
acculturation regarding the encounter of multiple cultures are the topics generally covered
by the research.
