Murungakai (drumstick) - 2 nos
Small Onion (Kunjulli) - 10 nos
(chopped)
Tomato (medium size) - 1 no
Toor Dal (Tomara Parippu) - 1 cup
Tamarind - a small lemon size
Turmericpowder - 1/2 tsp
Sambarpowder - 2 tbsp
Salt - as reqd
Curryleaves - a few
For Seasoning:-
Mustard - few
Asafoetida - few
Urad dhal - few
Fenugreek - few

3)Add Murungakai, onions, tomato to cooked dhal.
4)Sdd Sambar powder and salt to the above mixture.
5)Add water to cover and cook in low flame till the vegetables are cooked.
6)Soak tamarind in water and extract thick juice from it
7)Add this to the above and allow it to boil till it comes to desired consistency
8)Heat little oil in a pan and add all seasoning items and add to sambar.
9)Bring it to boil for another 2-3 minutes.
:- Delicious Chettinad Spicy Drumstic Sambar is ready.
:- Serve the Chettinad Muringakka Sambar hot!! :- Can server the Chettinad Muringakka Sambar
with hot rice or with idli and dosa.
