ExxonMobil Operations in Indonesia

ExxonMobil affiliates and predecessor companies have been operating in Indonesia for more than 100 years.
ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia Inc. (EMOI) operates the Arun Field in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province as a
Cooperation Contract Contractor (KKKS) to Badan Pelaksana Minyak dan Gas (BPMIGAS), the Indonesian
Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body. ExxonMobil affiliates also operate the South Lhoksukon A and D, Pase
A and B onshore fields, as well as North Sumatra Offshore (NSO) offshore gas field. ExxonMobil affiliates hold a
100% participating interest in the above mentioned fields.
Gas produced from these fields is supplied to the PT Arun LNG facility, where the gas is processed into liquefied
natural gas, or "LNG". EMOI has also supplied gas to local fertilizer plants and paper mills. At its peak, the Arun
Field produced about 3.4 billion cubic feet of gas per day (1994) and about 130,000 barrels of condensate per
day (1989). LNG manufactured by PT Arun was first exported to Japan in 1978.
Mobil Cepu Ltd. (MCL) and Ampolex (Cepu) Pte. Ltd. is Contractor of Cepu Cooperation Contract together with
Pertamina EP Cepu. ExxonMobil holds 45% of total participating interest in the Cepu Block.
The Cepu project is expected to generate a substantial multiplier effect on other industries in Java, resulting in
increased economic output, more jobs, increased average income, and an increase in community development
projects, all of which will increase the positive impact from the project within the local communities.
ExxonMobil affiliates, Esso Natuna Limited and Mobil Natuna D-Alpha Inc. (holding a combined 76%
participating interest), together with Pertamina, continue to work to secure a market for gas from the Natuna (D-
Alpha) Field in the South China Sea. The Natuna D-Alpha gas field was discovered in 1973 and is estimated to
contain 46 trillion cubic feet of recoverable hydrocarbon gas.
In 2007 ExxonMobil awarded Surumana and Mandar Block in Makassar Strait. ExxonMobil holds 100%
participating interest in the block.
In downstream business, we are ready to expand our market business in lubes and petrochemical businesses.
P.T. ExxonMobil Lubricants in INdonesia (PT EMLI), represents ExxonMobil's downstream business in the
country.
ExxonMobil's success in discovering and developing oil and gas resources in Indonesia clearly demonstrates the
company's commitment and contribution to Indonesia's oil and gas sector. Looking to the future, ExxonMobil
desires to continue its exploration and development operations and contributions to Indonesia's oil and gas
sector through the application of its local knowledge and experience combined with financial and technical
expertise.
