Holidays
Kern Transit will not provide service on the following holidays:
New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day,
Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Call to
inquire about special service hours on Christmas Eve and New
Years Eve.
Boarding the Bus
n Buses pickup and drop off passengers only at designated
bus stops.
n All Kern Transit vehicles are accessible to the disabled and
equipped with wheelchair lifts.
n All buses are equipped with bike racks. Riders are
responsible for loading and unloading bicycles and use the
racks at their own risk. Please ask the driver if you need
instructions.
n When boarding the bus, please leave the front seats vacant
for persons who are elderly or have a disability. Dont block
the entrance or exit.
n All services are provided on a first come, first served basis.
n Exact fare is required drivers do not make change.
Passenger Conduct
n Smoking, eating and drinking are not allowed.
n Playing of audio equipment (without headset) is not
permitted.
n Shirt and shoes are required.
n Refrain from unruly behavior and use of obscenities.
n Licensed service animals are allowed on a leash.
n There are no restrooms on buses.

The City of Taft operates both fixed route transit and Dial-A-
Ride service within the community of Taft. For details about
these services please call them directly.
Medical Dial-A-Ride In Bakerseld
If you are riding to Bakersfield for a medical or dental
appointment, Kern Transit provides a free Dial-A-Ride service
that will take you from the GET Downtown Transit Center
directly to the medical office where your appointment is. You
must make a reservation at least one day in advance, but no
earlier than two weeks in advance. Service is provided on a
space available basis. Call 800-323-2396 for details or
reservations.
