1.ViewPowerOverview
1.1. Introduction
ViewPower is UPS management software which is perfect for home users and
enterprises. It can monitor and mange from one to multiple UPSs in a networked
environment,eitherLANorINTERNET. Itcannotonlypreventdatalossfrompower
outageandsafelyshutdownsystems,butalsostoreprogrammingdataandscheduled
shutdownUPSs.
1.2. Structure
ViewPowerincludesViewPowerservice,GUI(userinterface)andViewPowericon.
ViewPowerserviceisthecoreofViewPowersoftware.Itsasystemprogramrunningin
thebackend.ItwillcommunicatewithUPS,recordevent,notifyuserswithevents,and
executecommandaccordingtousersrequest.
GUI is operated in Browser and communicated with backend program. Users can
monitorUPSsforrealtimestatus,informationandmodifyUPSsettingparametersvia
GUI.
ViewPowericonismanagingtoolforViewPowersoftware.WhenViewPowerisactivated,
thereisanorangeplugiconlocatedintaskbar.Italsowilldisplaypopupdialogfor
currentUPSstatus.

2.4. SoftwareUninstall
Note:Beforeuninstallsoftware,youmuststopallsoftwareprogramsfirstandthenlog
inasAdministrator!Otherwiseitcan'tbeuninstalledcompletely.
Please choose Start >> All Programs >> Viewpower >> Uninstall. Then follow the
onscreeninstructiontouninstallthesoftware.

userscanchoosetoshutdownthesystemwithoutshuttingdownthemonitored
UPS.
Poweroffoption:Selectingpoweroffmethodforaboveshutdownsystem.
l Shutdown:Whenclickingthecheckbox, theselectedsystemwill shutdown. The
defaultsettingisclicked.
l Sleep mode: When clicking the checkbox, selected system will suspend the
systeminsteadofanormalshutdown.Butthisfunction isonlysupportedby
Windows2000orhigheronsupportedhardware.
Delay time to shutdown system: Enter the delay time to shut down the
operatingsystem.Thevaluerangeisfrom1to99minutes.
Onshutdownexecutefile:Enterthepathofexecutefile.
WarningDialogSetting:
l Popup dialog before shutdown: Timer setting for popup warning dialog
displayed in local PC. Local PC will pop up a warning dialog before system
startstoshutdown.Therangeisfrom1to999seconds.
l Warning dialog interval: Reminding dialog interval setting. This setting also
appliesforUPSshutdownbecauseofpowerfailure.Therangeisfrom1to999
seconds.
4.2.2.RemoteShutdown

UPS.
