QUALIFICATION OF CANDIDATES

To qualify for the Graduate Representative position, a candidate must possess/satisfy the
following qualifications:
1. He/She must have one year of residency prior to occupancy of the position in the University and
at least one semester of which is in the College;
2. He/She is of good academic standing at the CSWCD, this means that he/she has no grade of
4.0 and 5.0 in the immediate preceeding semester; Incomplete grade must have been
completed at the time of filing of candidacy;
3. He/She must carry the normal CSWCD load of 6 units for graduate students and must not enroll
in Fieldwork Instruction (FI) during his/her incumbency;
4. He/She must not have been found guilty in any disciplinary case of any act of involving moral
turpitude as defined by the Revised Penal Code;
5. He/She must have paid the CSWCD Council fee for the First Semester 2014-2015.

REQUIREMENTS FOR FILING OF CANDIDACY
A graduate student wishing to file his/her certificate of candidacy should submit the following to
the CSWCD Student Council:
1. Curriculum Vitae;
2. Letter of Intent (specifying the position he/she is seeking and a brief platform);
3. Certification from the Office of the College Secretary that he/she has not been found guilty in
any act involving moral turpitude in the Revised Penal Code;
4. Certification from the Office of the College Secretary that he/she is currently carrying the
normal load prescribed by the Unit (6 units for graduate students)
5. Certification from the Office of the College Secretary that he/she is in good standing in the
immediate preceding semester.

ELECTION PROCEDURES
1. The CSWCD Student Council shall post the list of CSWCD bona fide students who qualify as
electors;
2. Qualified student voters include the full/part-time CSWCD graduate students who are enrolled
as majors in the program offerings of the College, i.e., Community Development, Social Work,
Women and Development, Social Development

To vote, the elector should present his/her ID indicating that he/she is officially enrolled for the
first semester of 2014-2015 or if not available, present his/her Form 5 with the official
imprimatur of enrollment also for the said semester;
3. The election procedure will be by secret balloting. The members of the CSWCD Student Council,
with the permission of the Faculty, will conduct the voting procedure through Room-to-Room
wherein the ballots will be distributed to the graduate students and will be collected afterwards
to put the ballots in a ballot box;
4. The official ballots are the ones duly certified by the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson for Internal
Affairs, and the Secretary-General of the CSWCD Student Council;
5. With the presence of the election inspectors for each candidate, the counting of votes will
follow shortly after the closing of the voting schedule with the votes tallied and the election
results officially certified by the present members of the CSWCD Student Council.
6. The official results will be announced on November 21, 2014. The CSWCD Student Council shall
notify the Office of the Dean and Office of the College Secretary of CSWCD about the results of
the election.
For the Campaign:
1. Machine-printed materials shall be allowed as personal campaign materials, provided that the
machines used shall be limited to photocopiers, risographs, and personal computers.
2. Campaign materials may be put up in areas designated by the CSWCD Student Council and
College Administration.
3. Hand-made personal campaign materials such as posters, pins, stickers, handbills, and other
similar items shall be allowed.
4. Statements on issues, candidates principles, and statements of support to the candidates are
strongly encouraged
