Description
Control valve designed for reducing high differential pressures. It is used in industrial installations and power plants as
Injection-cooling valve Warm-up valve
Drain valve Continuous blowdown valve
Feedwater control valve Leak-off valve
Steam control valve
All internals are exchangeable. Leakrate A in accordance with EN 12266-1 and Class VI in accordance with ANSI FCI 70-2-2003.

The control valve ZK 29 is suitable for the following actuators:
ZK 29/01 Manual operation, not convertible to electric rotary actuators
(only 1" up to 3", otherwise ZK 29/02)
ZK 29/02 Manual operation, design with insert bush of form B1, EN ISO 5210,
convertible to an electric rotary actuator
ZK 29/12 Design for attaching an electric rotary actuator with

Function
The ZK radial stage nozzle guarantees maximum wear resistance and ultra tight shut-off and combines the function of a
control valve with a shut-off valve.
Each control valve is equipped with a ZK radial stage nozzle
.
This system consists of several sleeves nesting within one another, containing radial orces drilled in them. By rotation of
the sleeves, the orices are shifted relative to one another, thus forming a large number of throttling points in parallel, with
turbulence chambers (expansion chambers) in between.
The owrate through the ZK radial stage nozzle is set by means of the valve plug. Depending on its position, this valve plug
opens up the individual orices partially or completely, thus producing different owrates.
As a result of this design, the pressure drop is reduced in steps and the medium owing through is split up into many partial
ows. This ensures high resistance to wear and reduces the noise level.
On the valve plug, there is a control edge which is separate from the seat surface and which closes the orices of the sleeve
insert before the valve plug comes to rest completely against the seat ring. As a result, wear is prevented on the surface of
the seat. Because of the multiple, step-by-step expansion in the turbulence chambers, the pressure drop in the region of
the seat is minimized.

Documentation regarding material tests and in-house
examination with test report EN10204-2.2 or inspection
certicate EN10204-3.1 or 3.2 available at extra cost.
All inspection requirements have to be stated with the enquiry
or order. After supply of the equipment certication cannot be
established. Charges and extent of the above mentioned test
certicates as well as the different tests conrmed therein
are listed in our Price List "Test and Inspection Charges for
