(i) Write and combine sentences using the conjunction because and able to get 5/5 correct answers in Task Sheet 2.

1. Teacher pastes three
pictures on the whiteboard
- A happy girl
- Bad Weather
- A sad man
Teacher asks students
what they think about the
pictures. ( To make them
think what are the effects
and causes they can find
from the pictures.)
2. Teacher gives one
example of what he thinks
about the picture by using
the conjunction because
and he tells the students
that because is used to
show cause and effect.
3. Teacher pastes a manila
card/butcher paper
consists of six sentences.

instructions to the
students, shows an
example on how to do the
task and reads the
sentences out loud.
5. Once finished, teacher will
asks the whole class to
read the sentences,
followed by the small
groups and individual.
6. Teacher will give 5
minutes time for the
students to discuss the
answers with their group
members.
7. Teacher discusses the
answer with the students.

1. Teacher distributes Task
Sheet 1 to the students
and explains to them that
this is a pair work activity.
2. 5 minute time will be given
to the students to complete
the task.
3. Once finished, teacher will
call out any volunteers to
write their answer on the
white board (Students
swap paper with their
partners.)
4. Teacher discusses the
answer with the students.
5. Next, Teacher distributes
one envelope consists off
task sheet 2 for group.
6. Teacher will explain about
the activity whereby they
need to construct their own
answer from the stimulus
given. (An example is
given to the students)
7. Teacher will give each
group a manila card/A3
paper to write the answers.
8. Once completed, teacher
will call each group to the
front to present their
answers to the whole
class.

9. Teacher discusses the
answers with the students,

newspaper and a piece of
drawing paper for each
group
2. Teacher explains the
activity for the students
whereby they need to find
as much sentences as they
can that have the
conjunction because in the
sentences.
3. After they find the
sentences, they need to
write them on the paper
given and they must cite
the page number where
they found the sentences.
4. Each group will be given
10 minutes to complete the
task.
5. The group that has the
most correct sentences will
win the activity and will
receive special prizes from
the teacher.
