    COSTING GUIDE
    This is a rough guide of how much it would cost to bake a 20 cm mud cake consisting of 4 layers of cake
    filled with 3 layers of buttercream, in total 10 cm high, coated with chocolate ganache and fondant. The
    ingredients are priced as on 30/07/2014 as found in Pick n Pay. You would be able to find much cheaper
    prices but this is just to show you how much it would actually cost if you run out to a store nearby.
    **If you are baking cakes for a hobby only you should at least be making as much on your cake as your
    overheads cost, for the time and effort that you put in, in other words:
    the cost of overheads eg. R 380,00 times 2 = R 760,00

    **To make your business successful and profitable it is wise to divide the final asking price of a cake in
    thirds.
    should be for your cost of overheads eg. R 380,00
    should be charged for labour, whether for yourself, an assistant, domestic worker etc.
    should be profit to help your business grow
    In other words, to sell this cake you would take:
    the cost of your overheads eg. R 380,00 and times it by 3 = R 1 140,00.
