Visi :
Through innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking, Airbus will continue to meet its eco-
efficiency goals, and ensure that air travel continues to be one of the safest, and most eco-
efficient, means of transportation.
As the air transport sector continues to grow, Airbus believes that the industry as a whole
must concentrate on technological advances, while also advancing solutions that will
meet passenger and market demands, the growing population and its demographic
profile, and respect all aspects of the environment.
After celebrating its own four decades of innovation, Airbus now is looking to the next
40-plus years actively working with other industry stakeholders and experts to
anticipate the global needs of a better-connected and more sustainable world.

We make it fly
Airbus Group is already a leader in each domain in which it operates: it has achieved
parity with Boeing in the commercial aircraft segment, is the No. 1 helicopter company in
the world, the European leader in space business and second in Europe in the defence
sector. Moreover, since the Groups foundation in 2000, it has increased its revenues by
145% and its annual order intake by 346%. Airbus Group innovates every day to increase
its competitive advantage by enhancing product performance, creating new customer
benefits and reducing costs.

Adapt to a more global world
Airbus Group recruited 84 different nationalities in 2013.
Airbus Groups markets are changing as European defence budgets remain flat and
commercial growth is stronger in emerging nations. The company is adapting to a more
global world as well as attracting and retaining global talents.

Although European by birth, Airbus Group has become the most international
aerospace and defence company in the world. The bulk of our backlog (80% versus 20%)
as well as of our sales (60% versus 40%) comes from outside Europe. This global
footprint is now reflected in the diversity of our staff and skills, with employees outside
Europe more than doubling in the last five years. This trend for internationalisation is set
to continue; Airbus Group estimates that 84% of its future revenues will come from
outside the European Union.

Focus services on and around our platforms
Airbus Group is improving the performance of its platforms by adding services to our
existing portfolio of products. The Company has doubled its revenues in the service
segment between 2008 and 2013 to reach 15% of its total business.

The service potential of the Groups own platforms is already visible in the broad range
of geo-information services provided by the growing SPOT satellites constellation, or by
programmes such as the Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft. Looking ahead, this segment is
set to increase substantially through maintenance and support services for the 800
military helicopters and aircraft Airbus Group expects to deliver in the coming years,
including around 200 Eurofighters, nearly 175 A400Ms and almost 100 Tigers.
Strengthen our value chain
Airbus Group actively manages its value chain and ensures it can differentiate its
products in the long run, de-risk current and future programmes, especially during ramp-
up, and generate services revenues.

The Groups suppliers provide a large proportion of the value in its products,
necessitating a robust supply-chain governance framework, backed by processes and
tools that foster partnership, risk mitigation and supplier performance development.

Peluang :
1. They have a large, increasing demand for their Aircraft from companies around the
world. With prices being reasonable and a strong brand loyalty, companies continue
to buy Aircraft from the Airbus Company.
2. there has been a surge in defense spending in China and India that will lead to growth
in their different market segments. The growth in these areas will allow Airbus to
search for new opportunities in the commercial airline segment. With more sales and
a higher cash flow, it will lead to growth through acquisition possibilities.
3. As Airbus grows, the potential for them to acquire smaller companies will grow.

Ancaman :
1. competition with other companies who have a larger value of finances and other business
segments. Boeing is the major competitor because they are in every market area and have
been around since the early 1900s. The pressure of competitions has subsequently
required Airbus to drop their prices. By doing this, it has impacted how well they are able
to grow and the possible profits they could make compared to the other major
competitors.
2. The weak economic outlook for the US and European markets will also impact the
outlook for Airbus. Even though the economy has seen improvements, there are still
areas of concern as we are not fully out of the recession currently.

Kekuatan :
1. Airbus has recently introduced the new A380, which is the largest commercial plane
in their fleet. With a higher volume of passengers and distance the plane can travel,
they have expanded the opportunity for longer and higher volume flights. The A380
has attracted many airline customers to purchases several A380 aircraft.
2. Airbus has seen much strength in their company through their internal support system
throughout the company. By having a strong internal support system, it makes for
easier communication amongst the offices within Airbus
3. It also supplies the company with a strong sense of efficiency throughout all the
different business processes within the company.
4. Another strength for Airbus is their diversified customer base with planes being used
by many different Airlines around the world.
Kelemahan :
1. the problems associated with the new A380 engines. The problems were
manufacturing defects associated with the construction of the engines, which set back
the company from where they would have liked to be.

Strengths
One of Boeing strengths are they produce a variety of products to meet the demand of the customers, with a
global image that is well known all over the world (Hellman, 2013). These different type of categories of
products and services provide the company with stability, such as:
-Commercial Airplanes
-Integrated defense system
-Military and missile system
-Space and communication
The other strength that boeing has is the Quality of their products.
Boeing builds the best products in the world, and its standards are second to none wetsby said
(Arkell, 2003) Boeing takes their production system and quality management system seriously to achieve
customer satisfaction carried through a lean production system. This has also lead to their big role in the
economy as they have a strong financial performance (Arkell, 2003).
The company can produce more advanced and high technology aircraft that meets the requirements of
modern society and customers. This is to fulfill the market demand for commercial planes. The boeing 787
dreamliner is one of the latest aircraft model that offers worlds one of the most advanced in flight experience.
The airplane is able to provide longer-range of service by using a smaller aircraft, which is what the company
want to provide.
Weakness
One of the weaknesses of The Boeing Company is the high R&D sepnding, which is about $3.3 billion
(Hellman, 2013) which affects the companys net earning. Also the other weaknesses of the company is the
pension cost which costs about $75 billion at the end of 2012(Hellman, 2013). Their decline in the
performance of integrated defense system divison is due to the over diversified
activites of production that boeing has. This allows errors in communication. The company has an hierrachial
semi-autocratic management style that has lead to labour problems such as low employee productivity
(Hellman, 2013).
Opportunities
Opportunities is one of the external factors, the company can have a good image in the eye of the customers,
which will make Boeing products more reliable compared to others. Boeing has a continuing growth in the
market demand for the commercial aircraft. The other product groups of Boeing
are also one of their opportunities to produce high quality products and leads in the industry (Hellman, 2013).
The opportunity of other boeing products such as Integrated defense system, military and missile system space
and communication to be produced and to fulfill the requirements of market demand.
In this picture it is shown that the employees drill up to 18 million holes every month to build Boeing
airplanes. This indicates an opportunity for Boeing Company to improve their production to produce the best
quality (Arkell, 2003).

Threats
The airline industry is the most affected by the terrorist act of 9/11 It has now gained its trust back to provide
the best quality aircraft, also with the increasing of order numbers. The competition between manufacturers is
intense, the comparison between prices, operational cost and production schedule (Hellman, 2013).
One of the threats of the company is the company relies on the U.S
governments regulations and contracts. The Boeing Company had a problem due to the excessive overtime
employee work, which is one of the threats to the sustainability of the company. The Boeing is reportedly to
improve and train their employee in order to keep their company leading and on track in providing the best
products and services (Arkell, 2003
