Dear Church Family,

As part of our Connect Campaign, we have been engaged in an 8 week outreach burst,
a time when we have asked you to commit to a time of weekly visitation to the
unchurched. I am grateful for those who have faithfully given of their time to go and make
some contacts. Outreach is very important, in fact it prevents us from becoming too
inwardly focused. If we do not have an outward focus, we shrivel up and die!
I have asked that some of you to be sharing your story, of how you came to know Christ,
in your Sunday morning groups. I hope you are doing that. It has been enlightening to hear
some of the stories in Sunday morning worship hour. Continue to work on your testimony.
That is a very basic way of sharing the good news about Jesus with others. And I hope you
are diligently praying for at least one lost person. Thats where evangelism begins.
Remember to invest and invite- build friendships and at least invite someone to come to
Bible study and church with you.
Every class ought to be reaching out to the lost and unchurched, or the never-churched.
How can you lead your class to do that?
1. Be prayerful. Pray that God would use your class to bring people into a personal
relationship with Him.
2. Be purposeful. It is not automatic, so we must be intentional about outreach. Keep it
before your class members.
3. Be persistent. Outreach is not a one-time event. We must use as many opportunities as
possible, sowing the seed as much as possible, using several different methods.
4. Plan. Outr each and evangelism will not just happen. We must look for ways to
engage the community and schedule the. Involve class members.
5. Identify prospects. We must have a list of names of community members who are
unchurched or lost. A prospect list becomes a prayer list and it becomes an invitation
list.
What would happen if every class set a goal of seeing two people come to know Christ and
being assimilated into the life of the church in the coming year?
Not only would there be rejoicing in heaven, there would be rejoicing here on earth.
In Christs love,
Bro. Darrol Bro. Darrol Bro. Darrol Bro. Darrol

Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, For His loving kindness is everlasting Let the
redeemed of the LORD say so... Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary.
Psalm 107 1-2

As this newsletter is going to print preparations are still being made for our annual Trunk or
Treat. Many of you donated candy and your time and I am very thankful. This is our biggest
joint outreach of the year, and I look forward to the new ministry contacts we will make
through Trunk or Treat!
We are already beginning work on a Childrens Christmas program. Michelle Young agreed
to assist us by heading this up, which is no small undertaking. If you would be willing to assist
us, please contact me or Michelle or call the church office. There is plenty of work to go around.
Props, costumes, and coaching assistants are needed! If your child will be participating, please
make sure they are present on Sundays. We have reserved time for program practice during
Worship 4 KidZ, immediately following Sunday School. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR:
There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal on Saturday, December 13 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
The annual Angel Tree will soon be up in the foyer. We encourage you or your life group to
consider adopting a child or a family from our community this year to provide Christmas gifts.
For those that like to shop early we will have names available for you soon. If you prefer
someone to shop for you, drop your donation by the table or write a check to First Baptist
Church and designate it to KidZ Korner Angel Tree. There will also be a box in the foyer to
collect non-perishable food items to assist in providing a meal for needy families.
The Good News Club is doing well in the Elementary Schools. Attendance has been great and
decisions are being made each week. Continue praying for this outreach and all the leaders.

LOTTIE MOON CHRISTMAS OFFERING GOAL: $175 MILLION

IMBs vision is for a multitude from
every language, tribe and nation
knowing and worshipping our Lord
Jesus Christ. For that to happen, we
must pray diligently for the thousands of
unreached people groups billions of
individuals who dont know their
savior. Paul tells us in Romans 10:1,
Brothers, my hearts desire and prayer
to God concerning them is for their
salvation (HCSB).
We can pray for our Southern Baptist missionaries who are sharing the Good News with the lost and being a
light in the world. And we can pray for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, that we Southern Baptists will
continue supporting our missionaries sent from our churches, and give even more to send more waiting to
answer Gods call.
