Pope Francis Pro Life All too often, as we know from experience, people do not choose life, they do not accept the Gospel of Life but let themselves be led by ideologies and ways of thinking that block life, that do not respect life, because they are dictated by selfishness, self- interest, profit, power and pleasure, and not by love, by concern for the good of others. As a result, the living God is replaced by fleeting human idols which offer the intoxication of a flash of freedom, but in the end bring new forms of slav- ery and death. from homily at Mass for Evangelium Vitae Day June 16, 2013 Sept. 20, 2013 "Reach Quotes
"My favorite part of the week was all of the op- portunities to meet new people, try new food and learn and take part in the sacraments by going to reconciliation and receiving the Eucharist." - Greg Fulbright. "My favorite part was pr obably meeting new awesome people and learning about boarder patrol." -Charles Durbin "In all honesty I can' t say what my favor ite par t was... It all was so fun and an amazing experience so I hope I am able to do it again next year!" - Kris- ten Durbin People need to understand that bad things hap- pen to good people Turk Salsbery You have to ask God to let you trust Him to get into the Catholic Faith Hannah Anderson I learned more about having a good relationship with Jesus, and Mass is not boring anymore! An Election Prayer to Mary
O Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, at this most critical time, we entrust the United States of America to your loving care.
Most Holy Mother, we beg you to reclaim this land for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed with the burden of the sins of our nation, we cry to you from the depths of our hearts and seek refuge in your motherly protection.
Look down with mercy upon us and touch the hearts of our people. Open our minds to the great worth of human life and to the responsibilities that accompany human freedom.
Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life. Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that Gods law is the foundation on which this nation was founded, and that He alone is the True Source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of hap- piness.
O Merciful Mother, give us the courage to reject the culture of death and the strength to build a new Cul- ture of Life.
Amen
Mass Intentions As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer. The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. We ask $10.00 per mass intention. Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information! 2015 Spring Quilt Raffle
Please take notice that the donation can for our quilt raffle is once again in the back of the church. Any and all donations of any amount will be wel- come. Our goal is to cover to cover the cost of the back- ing, batting and quilting which amounts to $300.00. The ladies who make the blocks for this quilt, do- nate their fabric, time and talent. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
Stewardship
November 2, 2014 - All Soul's Day
"Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his elect, and he watches over his holy ones." - Wisdom of Solomon 3:9
Here's the ironic thing about people who are generous. Those that give freely and cheerfully do not do it to be rewarded. They do it to show their love for God and their neighbors. Yet, because of their generosity, they typically are given more than they gave away!
so, pay close attention to the scripture reading. The good news - it's not too late to put God first in your life.
