Outcomes: After completion this practical, student should be able to: 1. Determine the maximum gain, -3dB, Cut-Off frequencies and bandwidth from the plotted frequency response curve. 2. Analyze the simulation results and make comparison to the expected theoretical outputs of the circuit simulated. Equipment: Personal Computer with PSPICE 9.1 installed Theory:
AC analysis is a type of analysis which involves the use of ac source. In this type of analysis, the ac source can be set to a single frequency or multiple frequencies. For multiple frequencies, the magnitude of the source is set the same. AC Sweep and Noise are types of AC analysis that evaluate circuit performance in response to a small-signal ac source. AC Sweep outputs include voltages and currents with magnitude and phase.
Bode plot is another AC sweep output where the response of a circuit towards change in the frequency of ac input source (Frequency Response Curve) together with gain in decibel unit can be obtained and plotted. Procedure:
PART A: LOW PASS FILTER 1 1. Draw the low pass filter circuit as given below.
Figure 1
2. Set the attributes for the ac source, V1, by clicking twice on the source graphic and then fill in the attributes.
