INTRODUCTION: Welcome to LiftUp2014s weekly prayer guide.
Thank you for joining with us in prayer and it is wonderful to know
that as you pray, you add your prayers to countless others being
prayed across the Elim movement every day.

Your daily prayers make a difference, as the God we pray to is
mighty, powerful, compassionate and gracious. We pray that as
you incorporate these prayer points into your life that God would
bless you.

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) Call to me, and I will answer you, and
show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

How to use the weekly prayer guide effectively:
Listen to the Holy Spirit
Keep prayers specific and faith filled
Pray often in the Holy Spirit
Remember to give thanks
Respond to Holy Spirits conviction and direction
Declare the confessions of faith audibly and as often as
possible
Allow the Holy Spirit to imprint these truths on your heart as
a disciple of Christ
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and
that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

rd
November OURSELVES

1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should
be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does
not know us is that it did not know him.

Ephesians 1:3 - 4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in
Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and
blameless in his sight. In love.

1 John 4:10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent
his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Prayer Points
Thank God for His unconditional love manifested through Christ and for
giving us everything we need.
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any hindrances to accepting God's love
and the wisdom to get rid of them.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to experience the unconditional love of
God and to see its manifestation in every area of your life.
Pray for any particular needs or circumstances you are currently facing.
Thank God for any answers to prayer or blessings He has given you.
Use the Scriptures as a basis for your prayers. Ask God what he wants
to reveal to you through them.

Confession of Faith
I am born again. God has become my Father. My Father loves me without
conditions and I accept His unconditional love.


Tuesday 4

November FRIENDS, FAMILIES & NEIGHBOURS

1 Timothy 2:1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and
thanksgiving be made for all people

2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers,
so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ,
who is the image of God.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all
people.

Prayer points
Thank God for the lives of family, friends and neighbours, and the
opportunity to share your life with them.
Pray for those who know Jesus as Lord and Saviour that God would
bless, release, empower and equip them
Pray in faith that the plan God has for the salvation of those who dont
yet know Jesus will be fulfilled. Pray that every veil that covers/blinds
their understanding will be removed. Ask the Holy Spirit how you can
be involved in this.
Name a friend, family member or neighbour and pray that the purpose
of their life would be manifested, according to the grace of God.
Pray for any who once knew Christ and have walked away. Ask God to
draw them back with His love and grace into right relationship with Him.
Pray for any specific needs of friends, family and neighbours.
Thank God for answered prayer and provision for friends, family,
colleagues and neighbours.

Confession of Faith
The promise of salvation is for ALL. I ask that [name the person] would know
the truth of who Jesus is and what he has done for them; that they would be
set free in Jesus name. Amen.


Wednesday 5

November OUR CHURCH

Ephesians 4:11 - 16 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the
evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of
service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in
the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature,
attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no
longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and
there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people
in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to
become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is,
Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every
supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its
work.

1 Corinthians 16:9 because a great door for effective work has opened to
me, and there are many who oppose me.

1 Thessalonians 5:25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us.

Prayer points
Thank God for your pastors and their families and everybody involved in
leadership of the Church.
Pray for divine wisdom to accomplish the vision and fulfil Gods
mandate for the church locally and beyond.
Pray for the protection of your pastors, deacons and all those involved
in the leadership of the church.
Pray for each department and ministry; ask God to equip every person
who serves in the church.
Pray for any specific events, projects or special services you have
coming up.

Confession of Faith
I declare that Our pastors and leaders will operate in the wisdom and power
of God. Gods mandate for the church will be fulfilled.


Thursday 6th November OUR COMMUNITY

Acts 26:17-18 I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them
from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may
receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by
faith in me.

2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers,
so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ,
who is the image of God.

Ephesians 6:11 - 12 Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your
stand against the devils schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and
blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of
this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Prayer points
Thank God for the grace and any blessings of the community of
Govanhill.
Pray that the seeds of the Gospel that have been sown will yield great
fruit.
Pray that the power of the enemy over the area will be broken over
Govanhill.
Pray for your Community? Where you spend your time? School,
College, University, Family, Neighbourhood, Workplace, Volunteering,
Friends,
Pray for the love and grace of the Gospel to be seen and known in
greater measure in your community.
Confession of Faith
I believe the seed of the Gospel produces fruit in the hearts of the people of
Govanhill and [insert name of your community]. The Heavens are open over
us. May the harvest of salvation be plentiful in Govanhill and the community
where I live.


Friday 7th November Pray for the UNITED KINGDOM

1 Timothy 2:1 - 3 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession
and thanksgiving be made for all people 2 for kings and all those in
authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and
holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Saviour

Proverbs 21:1 In the Lords hand the kings heart is a stream of water that he
channels toward all who please him..

Daniel 2:46 - 49 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and
paid him honor and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him.
47 The king said to Daniel, Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord
of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery.
Then the king placed Daniel in a high position and lavished many gifts on him.
He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in
charge of all its wise men. Moreover, at Daniels request the king appointed
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of
Babylon, while Daniel himself remained at the royal court.

Prayer Points
Thank God for His plan for the United Kingdom and how He has used
the nation to impact other nations.
Pray for God's guidance for the Queen and the Royal Family as well as
the political leaders appointed to run the UK.
Pray for the conviction of the Holy Spirit upon our unsaved leaders.
Pray for the Christians in the corridors of power to be bold in fulfilling
their God-given mandate.
Pray for each country that make up the United Kingdom.

Confession of Faith
The purposes of God for the United Kingdom will be fully established and the
United Kingdom will be blessed and will be a blessing to many nations.


Saturday 8th November Our World and in particular the Middle East

2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to
strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a
foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.

Matthew 25:37 - 40 Then the righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we
see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in or needing clothes and
clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?
The King will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of
these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

Psalms 145:8 - 9 The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger
and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has
made.

Prayer Points
Pray for the Middle East. Pray for those involved in decision making?
Pray for protection for the Christians in the middle east.
Thank God for his compassion to all who are hurting. Pray for the
safety of children and families caught in the conflict
Pray for those who are seeking to provide aid for those who are hurting
and pray that they will be shielded from harm and that their provisions
will reach their intended destinations.
Pray that God will show us how we can make a difference in the lives of
those who are affected by the disasters.
Pray Gods mercy and steadfast love would be seen and known in the
midst of tragedy and difficulty.

Confession of Faith
Jesus, you are compassionate, loving and gracious. We are a compassionate
people who respond to the needs of those who are hurting as a reflection of
Your grace.


Sunday 9th November The Churches that will be gathering together

Acts 9:31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a
time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and
encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

Isaiah 56:7-8 these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my
house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my
altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations. 8 The
Sovereign Lord declares he who gathers the exiles of Israel: I will gather
still others to them besides those already gathered.

Isaiah 40:28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the
everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or
weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

Prayer Points
Pray for the churches that are gathering together. Pray for the Holy
Spirit to move in power in the lives of those who gather together.
Pray for the persecuted churches who are in hiding each time they
meet.
Pray for those who will bring the Word of God. Pray for power and
boldness in speaking Gods word
Pray for increase in believers all over the world.
Pray for unity among all denominations and the working together to see
Gods kingdom established on the earth.
Pray for greater influence of the church and the Christians in the
corridors of power to be bold in fulfilling their God-given mandate.
Pray for your own church today. Pray that God will ignite peoples
hearts with a fire and a passion for Him and his purposes.

Confession of Faith
The purposes of God for the Church WILL be established and the nations
WILL be blessed by God through the church

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS NOT A PLAYGROUND ITS A BATTLEGROUND, SO TODAY I WILL GIVE NO
PLACE TO FEAR OR FAILURE, I WILL NOT ACCEPT A TRACE OF APATHY IN MY ATTITUDE OR ACTIONS,
I WILL REJECT COMPLACENCY, AND I WILL EMBRACE THE GREATNESS THAT GOD HAS PLANTED
INSIDE OF ME, I WILL WASTE NO OPPORTUNITY TO GLORIFY GOD AND MAXIMISE EVERYTHING HE
HAS ENTRUSTED TO ME, I WILL FIGHT

MY BATTLE IS NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT AGAINST A SPIRITUAL ENEMY
SO I WILL DRAW UP THE BATTLE LINES AND FACE MY ENEMY WITH A BOLD DETERMINATION. I
WILL DISMANTLE EVERY ARGUMENT AND PRETENTION HE PRESENTS WHICH CONTRADICTS WHAT
GOD HAS SPOKEN. MY ENEMY FIGHTS AGINST ME BECAUSE HE FEARS ME. EVERY TIME HE
REMINDS ME OF MY PAST, I WILL REMIND HIM OF HIS FUTURE. EVERY TIME I RESIST HIM HE MUST
FLEE, EVERY TIME I SPEAK THE TRUTH EVERY STRONGHOLD MUST SURRENDER, I WILL FIGHT

I WILL MAKE NO EXCUSES BUT THROUGH EVERY OBSTACLE I WILL FIND A WAY, I WILL NOT
PROCRASTINATE MY PROGRESS, I WILL NOT DEFER MY DESTINY, I WILL NOT WAIVER WHEN I AM
WEAK, I WILL NOT COWER WHEN MY CIRCUMSTANCES TURN FOR THE WORST
FOR GREATER IS HE WHO IS IN ME THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD, I WILL FIGHT

I WILL PURSUE, OVERTAKE AND RECOVER EVERYTHING THAT THE ENEMY HAS COME TO KILL STEAL
AND DESTROY IN MY LIFE AND EVEN IF I LOSE THE BATTLE I WILL WIN THE WAR, BECAUSE I AM
MORE THAN A CONQUEROR THROUGH HIM WHO LOVES ME
I AM RAISED TO LIFE IN JESUS CHRIST, AND I REIGN WITH HIM BECAUSE I LOOK TO HIM FOR
STRENGTH. I WILL REJECT THE LIES THAT ECOH IN MY MIND TELLING ME THAT I DONT HAVE WHAT
IT TAKES, THAT I CANNOT SURVIVE THIS TRIAL, THAT MY BEST IS BEHIND ME OR THAT
HUMILIATION AWAITS ME. THE DEVIL IS A LIAR. AND MY GOD ALWAYS CAUSES ME TO TRIUMPH
THROUGH JESUS CHRIST MY LORD. I WILL FIGHT

I AM UNASHAMED TO REPRESENT A KINGDOM THAT IS UNSHAKABLE. NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO
STAND AGAINST GODS PLAN FOR ME ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE. WITH MY GOD I WILL ADVANCE
AGAINST EVERY TROOP, WITH HIS HELP I WILL SCALE EVERY WALL
THOUGH MY ENEMY SURROUNDS ME, MY GOD SURROUNDS MY ENEMIES, THOUGH THEY COME AT
ME ONE WAY, THEY WILL FLEE SEVEN WAYS, BECAUSE NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL
PROSPER, AND EVERY EVIL THING THAT RISES UP AGAINST ME I WILL CONDEMN, I WILL FIGHT

I HAVE DETERMINED TO BUILD MY LIFE ON THE SOLID FOUNDATION OF GODS PERFECT WORD. I
DEFY AND DEFEAT SIN BECAUSE OF THE FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST MY SAVIOR
I AM WHOLEHEARTEDLY DEVOTED TO THE CAUSE GOD MADE ME FOR AND I HAVE NO INTENTION
OF LETTING THE WORLD DEFINE ME BECAUSE I KNOW WHO I AM. I AM A HUMBLE WARRIOR, A
GOOD SOLDIER, A STRONG AND MIGHTY SERVANT OF THE LIVING GOD. IN CHRIST I AM
COURAGEOUS, IN CHRIST I AM CONFIDENT, MY HEART IS STEADFAST
MY PURPOSE IS IMMOVABLE. I AM ALWAYS ABOUNDING IN THE WORK OF THE LORD
AND MY POTENTIAL IS UNLIMITED BECAUSE THE LIMITLESS GOD LIVES WITHIN ME
I WILL FIGHT

THE CROSS IS BEFORE ME THE IS WORLD BEHIND ME, ILL NEVER TURN BACK, ILL NEVER GIVE UP,
ILL NEVER SETTLE ,ILL NEVER STOP SHORT, I WILL PRESS TOWARDS THE MARK FOR THE PRIZE THAT
IS ALREADY MINE, FOR I AM PERSUADED THAT NEITHER DEATH NOR LIFE NOR ANGELS, NOR
PRINCIPALITIES NOR POWERS NOR THINGS PRESENT, NOR THINGS TO COME, NEITHER HIGHT NOR
DEPTH, OR ANYTHING ELSE IN ALL CREATION SHALL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE ME FROM MY GOD , AND
IF MY GOD IS FOR ME WHO CAN BE AGAINST ME, I WILL FIGHT.

Thought

Today, many of us dont fully appreciate how accessible God is to all of us who know
the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Savior. This point is found throughout the book of
Hebrews. Hebrews 4 tells us that we can approach the throne of grace, boldly.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens
Jesus the Son of God . . . let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that
we may receive mercy and find grace to help us at the proper time. (Heb 4:14-16)

Because of Christs perfect sacrifice, we can come into Gods presence anytime and
openly and honestly and pour out our concerns, requests and our intercession, just
like Abraham, Moses, David and many others in the bible.

Pauls prayers in Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians, serve as model prayers, for
all believers in the body of Christ. Though he expressed his requests specifically and
creatively as he addressed the Lord on behalf of each audience, all three prayers had
certain common elements. The first one, maturity, is gained by means of the next two.

Maturity in Christ: So that you may walk worthy of the Lord . . . bearing fruit in every
good work and growing in the knowledge of God
(v. 10; cp. Eph 3:17b-19; Php 1:9-11).

Supernatural Wisdom: We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of
His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Col 1:9; cp. Eph 1:17; Php 1:9).

Supernatural Power: May you be strengthened with all power, according to His
glorious might (Col 1:11; cp. Eph 3:16).

"Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that
you can take your stand against the devil's schemes" (Eph. 6:10-11).
