The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) maintains an array of
buoys called Autonomous Temperature Line Acquisition System (ATLAS) in the equa
torial regions of the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean.
* The ATLAS buoys, white and orange, 2 metre toroid buoys with radar reflectors,
which make up the array are located in the following revised positions (WGS84 D

Mariners are advised to give all buoys a 5 nautical mile wide berth.

Traffic lanes are established on both sides of these Traffic Separation Zones, w
idth 600m.
The traffic lane on the east of No3 Traffic Separation Zone is designated for no
rthbound traffic (000 and 335). The traffic lane on the west is designated for sou
thbound traffic (155 and 180).
The traffic lane on the north of No4 Traffic Separation Zone is designated for w
estbound traffic (306). The traffic lane on the south is designated for eastbound
traffic (126).
The traffic lane on the east of No5 Traffic Separation Zone is designated for no
rthbound traffic (348). The traffic lane on the west is designated for southbound
traffic (168).
The traffic lanes on both sides of No6 Traffic Separation Zone are passages for
Hong Kong - Macao high speed passenger craft. The traffic lane on the north is d
esignated for westbound traffic (278). The traffic lane on the south is designate
d for eastbound traffic (098).
No3 Precautionary Area is centred on position 22 10' 90N 113 49' 73E (Beijing (195
4) Datum), 22 10' 88N 113 49' 75E (WGS84 Datum), radius 2000m.
