Statement of Intent
As a technology enthusiast, the passionate urge to combine
what Iʼve learnt from communication engineering with new
technologies that computer science called me to revisit their
fundamentals, challenge the complexities, and trek into
exciting new ventures.

Years of learning, studying and experiencing in the

Department of Communication Engineering at National
Central University have endowed me with the ability to
judge and solve problems, often from different perspectives.
Having also teach-assisted on campus, lead the undergrat-
uate division of the school network operation group, co-
worked with peers on new ideas in laboratories, and worked
part-time as a web application developer on the hypo project
helped me became a good communicator and leader.

At National Tsing Hua University, I wish to pursue a fi ner

grasp of embedded systems, network applications, data min-
ing and natural language processing by learning:

1. more about the fundamentals, by looking into the

Android project, with an emphasis on its application
frameworks, the underlying Dalvik Virtual Machine
and its kernel. I also wish to understand the very nature
of the assembly language and how programs compile.

2. practical cloud computing, by mastering the hadoop

framework, which coordinates and aggregates com-
puting units.

I will keep myself updated and competitive by regularly

attending seminars, conferences, and courses of other dis-
ciplines. I would also keep building new web applications
using new technologies to keep up with the status quo.

Ideas would be powerful enough to change the way we live

and think only if they were implemented. Being a bivalent
enthusiast in communication engineering and computer
science, Iʼm now fully prepared for another great venture,
seeing a greater future coming to reality.
