n Growing With Children Spring Conference.
Last year, over 300 attended, including family child care providers, school and center teachers, center
directors, community partners and others with a vested interest in increasing the quality of child care and
enhancing childrens learning opportunities.
As a presenter, you will reach a large audience excited about the opportunity to spend the day learning new
ideas and the latest on topics of interest in the field. We hope you submit a training propsal and share your
expertise.
The selection committee strives for a diverse and well-balanced education schedule. Each proposal will be
reviewed and the committee will consider the following criteria:
Is the training appropriate for the target audiences?
Is the content relevant to current priorities, issues and trends?
Will the training actively engage participants through a variety of teaching approaches?
Will the training content and materials provide participants with new methods, practices or creative
and innovative ideas for their programs?
Honorarium requested.
All applications must be received by November 30, 2014 to be given consideration.

How will I know if my training proposal is accepted?

We will contact all applicants and notify of their status
before December 15, 2014. If accepted, additional paperwork may be
necessary for KDHE approval and payment processing.
What is presenter compensation?
Please keep in mind this is a fundraiser for Child Starts
Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) program. Child Start is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. An in-kind
donation receipt for tax purposes can be awarded upon request. Growing With Children presenters receive
$50 honorarium per 2-hour session as well as free (non-transferable) conference registration and lunch.
Honorariums are negotiable in limited cases and negotiations will be considered as needed. Those presenters
waiving their honorarium will be given top priority to present. All presenters will also receive the opportunity
to provide fliers to be included in participant bags and a discount on exhibitor tables. All travel costs are the
responsibility of the presenter.
May I request to present more than one training?
Yes! We are always looking for new and fun presentations!
When are proposals due?
Training proposals are due by November 30, 2014.
Do you help with the cost of supplies?
Unfortunately, we are not able to help with the cost of supplies.
Do you make copies?
We request that you make copies on your own. However, if it will be difficult
for you to make copies, please make an appointment with us before
March 1, 2015 for assistance.

What if I need Audio/Visual (AV)

We certainly appreciate presenters who have their own AV equipment
available for personal use. Child Start has several projectors and laptops
(Windows based) available for use on a first come first serve basis.
You will be notified if we have the AV equipment you request.
Please note, none of our projectors have Mac connections.
