These workshops will help you identify the right language to use at the right time to have successful
conversations and interactions. The workshops can be taken individually or as a series.
All workshops meet from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in 87 Prospect Avenue, Room 063. Light refreshments will be served.
87 Prospect Avenue is the building located directly behind 91 Prospect Avenue. Room 063 is on the lower level.

Making a Connection with Small Talk
This workshop explores the language we use to make a good first impressionlanguage that shows that
we are friendly and willing to interact. Learn how to use the tools of small talk (including compliments,
complaints, and questions) to build connections.

Developing Targeted Responses to this Common Question
You have probably been asked this question many times by numerous people such as fellow researchers or
friends of friends. In this workshop we will learn to target our responses to specific and general
audiences. We will work on both a long and short response. Facilitators will assist with helpful phrases and
organizational tips. Feedback will be provided.
