Cumulative Recovery Act Medicaid FMAP outlays totaled $40 billion as of Dec. 18. We continue to review spending plans and could announce and/or begin releasing funds for additional Recovery Act programs.
HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced the availability of $27 million in Recovery Act funds to help older individuals to fight
chronic disease and reduce their use of costly medical care. The Administration on Aging program is part of the Department’s
$650 million “Communities Putting Prevention to Work” initiative. (Dec. 16)
