Introduction
In this guide, you'll be shown step-by-step how to make a
paper airplane based on the Star Wars Gladiator-Class Star
Destroyer.
Each and every step will be explained with clear, easilyunderstandable language. If following the text becomes
difficult, clarification is provided by accompanying
illustrations.

Tools and Materials

Required
1 sheet of US Letter paper (8.5 in 11 in)

Optional
1 Ruler

In the same direction as a clock's hands.

Opposite of clockwise.
Mark left in paper after a fold's been unfolded.
Inch.
In a direction parallel with the paper's length.
In a direction parallel with the paper's width.

Steps 1-3
Step 1:

Place the US Letter size paper on a flat surface.

Step 2:

Fold it in half lengthwise.

Result.

Step 3:

Unfold.

Steps 4-5
Step 4:

Fold the paper widthwise, bringing the right edge 3.5 inches
away from the left edge.

Result.

Step 5:

Unfold.

Steps 6-7
Step 6:

Grab the top right corner and fold over towards you, aligning
the edge highlighted in yellow with the edge highlighted in green.

Result.

Step 7:

Unfold.
Rotate paper 180 degrees counterclockwise.

Steps 8-9
Step 8:

Fold top left corner down to meet the end of the crease
indicated by the arrow.

Result.

Step 9:

Unfold.

Steps 10-11
Step 10:

Flip the paper over lengthwise.

Step 11:

Fold the paper by bringing the left corners over to meet the
ends of the creases that form a large X.

Steps 12-14
Step 12:

Unfold.

Step 13:

Flip the paper over lengthwise.

Step 14:

Poke the paper at the intersection of the X formed by the

creases.

Steps 15-16
Step 15:

Bring the parts of the paper marked by stars together until they
meet at the location indicated by the X.

Step 16:

Flatten the structure by bringing the top of the center crease

down to the location indicated by the center arrow.

Result.

Step 17:

Steps 16-17

Fold the tip of the right flap up to the right end of the crease
indicated by the arrow.

Result.

Steps 18-19
Step 18:

Repeat for the left flap until your result looks like this.

Step 19:

Fold the edge highlighted in green left until it's aligned with the
edge highlighted in yellow.
NOTE: Do not fold the deepest layer of the paper.

Result.

Steps 20-22
Step 20:

Repeat on the opposite side until your result looks like this.

Step 21:

Unfold both flaps completely so your result looks like this.

Step 22:

Refold the crease highlighted in green by folding the edge

highlighted in yellow over it.
Ensure your result matches the next diagram.

Steps 23-24
Step 23:

Reinforce the part of the crease highlighted in yellow.

NOTE: Do not reinforce the full length of the crease.

Step 24:

Unfold the flap.

Rotate the paper 90 degrees counterclockwise.
Bring the parts of the paper marked by arrows together until
they meet at the location indicated by the X (which is between the
locations indicated by gears, but not perfectly halfway between
them).

Note that as you bring the locations marked by stars together to

meet at the place indicated by the X, a vertical, triangular flap
should start to appear as depicted here.

Compare your work with this result shown from a different

perspective.
Close the flap by pinching it along the crease highlighted in
yellow.

Steps 25-26
Step 25:

Fold the flap over so the tip meets the right end of the crease
indicated by the arrow.

Step 26:

Repeat on the opposite side.

Steps 27-28
Step 27:

Flip the paper over so it's pointing towards you.

Step 28:

Fold the bottom tip of the paper up until your result matches
the next diagram.

Result.

Step 29:

Steps 28-29

Rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise so it looks like this.

Step 30
Step 30:

Flip it over so it looks like this.

Fold it in half by bringing the top edge down to align with the
bottom edge.

Result.

Steps 31-32
Step 31:

Flip it over away from you.

Create the crease highlighted in yellow by folding the wing
closest to you down.
Pay special attention to the location of the right end of the
crease.
Note that the left end of the crease should two times higher
than the right end.

Result.

Step 32:

Repeat with the other wing and orient the plane so it matches
this diagram.

Step 33
Step 33:

Undo the last two steps by unfolding both wings up.

Create the crease highlighted in yellow by folding the bottom
left corner up and to the right.
Ensure that the left end of the crease is not created higher than
the left end of the crease above it.

Result.

Steps 34-35
Step 34:

Unfold.
Invert the folds just created by spreading open the wings a bit
and stuffing the bottom left triangular flap up in between the wings.
Close the wings and verify that your result matches this
diagram.

Step 35:

Refold the wing down using the crease highlighted in green that
is already there.
Repeat with the other wing.

Result.

Steps 36-37
Step 36:

Fold the wing up by aligning the crease highlighted in yellow

with the crease highlighted in green.

Result.

Step 37:

Repeat with the other wing.

Open up your plane, turn it right-side up and you're ready to fly
your Gladiator-Class Star Destroyer!
