The handling of the command feedback assignment has been corrected. The control
commands work in both directions (On or off) and will not be refused anymore.
The expert parameters RTS signal and DTR Signal enable you to switch RTS and DTR
signals on or off permanently.
More than one device which is connected to the same interface and for which several
CASDUs (logical devices) are configured work properly.
More than one device which is connected to the same interface and for which several
CASDUs (logical devices) are configured work properly.
The dial up connection with SICAM EMIC is supported with the INSYS Pocket Modem 56K.
The priority of the list handling can be parameterized. It is possible to decide which request
will be sent first in case more than one request is sent at the same time on one connection
The performance of polling via different connections has been improved. The lists will be
polled in parallel on different connections and not sequentially.
A combination of the IP address and the port can be assigned several times if it is ensured
that all these devices communicate via this specific connection. Establishing the
communication with several physical devices is possible with one single connection.
Modbus Master
-
The application can read more than 127 digital points (FC1/2) from one received message.
The descriptive texts for analog channels and binary information in fault records are
available in the archive and are displayed correctly in Comtrade Viewer or also in SIGRA.
For DIGSI 5 SCD files containing pre-selected information objects, it can be decided to
import the pre-selected objects only.
The feature Create MMS addresses (in the Template view for IEC 61850 IEDs) which is
used for the IEC 61850 Server has been improved: The MMS addresses are created for
almost all the information objects.
The IEC 61850 Server CID export has been improved to support Schneider Electric PACIS.

3.2.2
Normalization/Threshold-Value Processing
The threshold-value processing that must be configured in normalization has been changed for a
high number of protocols.
Previously, a value was only transmitted if the parameterized threshold was violated or in a
time-out of the additionally set time. Now, the following procedure is used:
The protocol driver remembers the delta to the last transmitted value and calculates a sum of the
deltas (integration process). As soon as the sum exceeds the set threshold value, the actual
value is transmitted, and the sum is reset. As a measured value is subject to small variations, this
procedure assures that the value is transmitted periodically. The time that must be set is thus
obsolete and no longer used.
For technical reasons, the protocols were not all converted to the new procedure. The protocols
TG8979 Slave, CDT Slave, PROFIBUS FMS, PROFIBUS DP, ILSA Master and all the OPC
protocols still use the former procedure.

3.2.9.3 Value Level
Check necessary:
The new Command termination parameter is available for commands. This parameter allows
you to select whether a command termination must be sent to the control center.
The log file created during a conversion contains a detailed note if this case concerns your V6.00
project to be converted.
3.2.9.4 System Messages
For information:
The Sys_StandbyMode status command is no longer supported.
3.2.9.5 Threshold-Value Processing
Check necessary:
As in V6.00, there are 2 ways to configure threshold-value processing for the IEC 60870-5-104
Slave:
- Directly at the data point
Copyright
2013-10-30
Note that one of the 2 possibilities at most can be used at a data point. Both possibilities have
been used at the same time at the same data point. If in a SICAM PAS V6.00 project, this will
cause errors during the conversion.
The log file created during a conversion contains a detailed note if this case concerns your
project to be converted.
In addition, the configuration of the threshold-value processing directly at the data point has
been modified. The following parameters were available in the SICAM PAS V6.00:
- absolute threshold value
- integral threshold value
- dynamic adaptation (true or false)
Contrary to that, the configuration in V7.00 (or later) is done with the following parameters:
- Threshold type:
0 = no threshold-value processing (None)
1 = threshold-value processing with absolute limit without dynamic adjustment (direct)
2 = threshold-value processing with relative limit without dynamic adjustment (integrating)
3 = threshold-value processing with absolute limit with dynamic adjustment (direct with
dynamic adjustment)
4 = threshold-value processing with relative limit with dynamic adjustment (integrating with
dynamic adjustment)
- Threshold value
The following table shows the assignment of the values:

- Start Tc Address
- End Tc Address
- Scan priority
(see also: online help)
Check necessary:
The group level has been fundamentally changed. In older SICAM PAS versions, a scan group
was configured indirectly because of the values assigned in the mapping. In the actual SICAM
PAS/PQS version, a scan group is configured using the Class Type (function code used: FC 01
/ 02 / 03 / 04) and the Request Modes (Single Point/Range/Count). Thus, more detailed scans
with different query cycles are possible.
Observe the following points:
RTU supports range scans with gaps.
Example: A group with a range from address 1-100 is configured but in the RTU, only the
addresses 1-10 and 30-100 have been configured. In some cases this can lead to a faulty
answer (only Error code available in Response no data are transferred). Then, the group must
be divided into 2 groups: One group with an address range from 1-10 and a second group with
30-100.
All groups available before the conversion are deleted during the conversion. Some settings of
the deleted groups are used to configure the newly created groups (Period (Scan Rate)/Function
Codes/value addresses).
The log file created during a conversion contains a detailed note if this case concerns your V6.00
project to be converted.
3.2.14.4 Value Level
Check necessary:
The addresses of each value are corrected with an offset of -1 during the conversion. The
actual SICAM PAS/PQS version uses the addresses without correction factors used in the
protocol. This allows uniform behavior towards the Modbus Slave.
The Information structure parameter is available for 32-bit types in monitoring and command
direction.
Check necessary:
The data types have also been fundamentally changed:
Changes for the following data types have been implemented:
Protocol Information Type in monitoring direction,
- SP has been changed to SP_FC1, SP_FC2
- DP has been changed to DP_FC2, DP_FC2
- IT has been changed to IT_I16_FC3, IT_I32_FC3, IT_I16_FC4, IT_I32_FC4
- ME_F has been changed to ME_F32_FC3, ME_F32_FC4
- ME_I (AIN), ME_I (RIN), ME_U (AIN) have been changed to
ME_I32_FC3, ME_I32_FC4, ME_I16_FC3, ME_I16_FC4.
Additionally, the following points were implemented
- SP_I16_FC3 and SP_I16_FC4
(Single Point can be scanned with FC3 and FC4)
Protocol Information Type in command direction:
- SC has been changed to SP_FC5
- DC has been changed to DP_FC15
- SE_AI has been changed to SE_I16_FC6
- SE_AFL has been changed to SE_F32_FC16
- SE_AL has been changed to SE_I32_FC16

On the interface level you configure the assignment of the switching authority group, the IP
address of the network interface card of the Full Server over which the communication shall
take place (this is also the address that must be entered at the SICAM SCC channel for the
SICAM PAS) and the port number.
On the interface level you configure the IP addresses of the SICAM SCC computer(s) and
the channel-monitoring time. (Make sure that the same channel-monitoring time is set in
SICAM SCC.
Redundant SICAM SCC systems are configured as a control center, the 2 IP addresses of
the SICAM SCC computers are entered in the communication settings.
Independent SICAM SCC systems that shall be connected to a SICAM PAS are configured
in separate interfaces. In this way a different assignment of switching authority groups is
possible.

General Information
3.3.2
The 'Deadband' parameter does not exist anymore in SICAM PAS V6.00 (or later).
This function must be realized with a normalization from SICAM PAS V6.00 (or later).
The 'EngMin', 'EngMax', 'RawMin', 'RawMax parameters do not exist anymore in SICAM
PAS/PQS V6.00 (or later). This function must be realized with normalization from SICAM
PAS/PQS V6.00 (or later).
Many of the parameters for the interface and the control center have been changed in SICAM
PAS V6.00 (or later). New parameters have been added and former settings are not available
anymore.
For some parameters that existed with the same or similar meaning, default settings are set
during the conversion.
For some parameters the range of value has been reduced from SICAM PAS V6.00 (or later). If
the former values are outside the range of values valid for SICAM PAS V6.00 or if they are
marked as faulty, adapt these values. Set the baud rate again and select one of the proposed
values from the list box.
Therefore you must control all the parameters for the interface and the control center and
possibly adapt them.
The 'BO' ('DNPSlaveBitPattern32') information type is deleted and no longer available in SICAM
PAS/PQS V6.00 (or later). All items of information assigned to this type are no longer assigned
after the conversion and must be mapped again.
For more detailed information on activities required, refer to the log file.
3.3.3
SICAM SCC
If a SICAM SCC device is assigned an item of information which includes a semicolon in the
name and is mapped to the 'Alarm Logging System', this device cannot be copied after the
conversion.
The following solution is available:
1. Remove the mapping of effected items of information (column Use) and map the items
Copyright

2013-10-30
again. The mapping to the Alarm logging system, tag management, and archive system
must be performed again manually. The semicolons are replaced.
2. Afterwards, an export to SICAM SCC must be performed.

Notes on Installation
Siemens recommends using the same logon on all computers (Full Server and DIP) of a system.
In exceptional cases, the installation of the Sentinel System Driver Installer 7.5.7 can fail.
This is communicated by the error message A dongle error has occurred in the SICAM
PAS/PQS Feature Enabler after entering the correct license key.
Details on this problem and the steps for resolving it are available as configuration information
281.
4.2
Print Preview
To optimize the display of the print preview, install a driver of a physical/actual printer or the
Adobe PDF printer driver on the SICAM PAS/PQS computer.
NOTE
The application supports printer driver DPI settings up to 600dpi.
4.3
Helpful Configurations
During the configuration creation only basic checks are implemented with the SICAM PAS/PQS
UI Configuration.component
For example, if you have created a scan group Class 0/1/2/3 Scan in the DNP 3.0 Master with a
polling rate of 2 s, but you use a transmission rate of 9600 baud/s on the interface level and the
RTU has a range of 1000 values, then it is technically impossible to receive all data points during
this period.
In this case, an overflow of the groups will happen which may cause a cyclic device failure.
Make sure that the time-outs are set to a reasonable value combined with Number of
unsuccessful connection attempts. An apparent disturbance may occur, especially in the case
of a redundant configuration.
Example: If a group has the Number of unsuccessful connection attempts set to 10 and a
time-out of 2000 ms, an RTU will only be marked as failed after 20 s and a switchover will be
initiated.
4.4
Unavailable Devices
Devices that cannot be accessed in the network should not be started from SICAM PAS/PQS UI
Operation.
The Windows operating systems (XP from SP2 on, XP embedded SICAM Station Unit V2.20)
allow for up to 10 TCP connections in Sync state. If the TCP/IP based communication protocols
cannot access a device via the network, then the connection stays in the Sync state until
time-out.
If 10 TCP connections are already in Sync state, no further TCP connections can be opened
during this time. Under such circumstances it may happen that other SICAM PAS/PQS drivers
cannot be started, since these drivers also set up a TCP connection to the DSI server internally.
4.5
SICAM PAS/PQS uses a font optimized for Windows 7. Under Windows XP Professional it may
be necessary to optimize the display of the typeface according to the screen resolution. To do
this, open Control Panel -> Display -> View. You can open a further dialog using Effects. In
this dialog you can change the font smoothing using the option Use the following method to
smooth fonts on the screen.

4.7
PROFIBUS FMS Master may only be used with SIMATIC NET 2008 (V7.1).
PROFIBUS FMS Master is not SIMATIC NET 2010 (V8) compatible and cannot be used with
64-bit operating systems.
The GSD files for SIPROTEC 4 devices are included in the scope of delivery of DIGSI.
The GSD files must be copied into the C:\Siemens\SIMATIC.NET\ComPB.nt\gsd SIMATIC NET
directory.
All device templates for the device variants of 6MB525 are included in the scope of delivery.
(%PUBLICDOCUMENTS%Siemens Energy\SICAM PAS

For more detailed information, see: Configuration Info 269
If a communications processor SIMATIC CP5613 (A2) is used combined with system
redundancy, only one PROFIBUS FMS Master may be entered as a timing master.
For system redundancy the time synchronization is always effected with just one PROFIBUS
FMS Master. The timing master must be configured on the master system. The time
synchronization is always established with this system, regardless of which system works as the
master at this time. If the master system fails or if it is not connected to the network anymore,
then there is no time synchronization of the connected devices.

4.16.4 Redundancy
When you configure the IEC 61850 redundancy, make sure that you establish the desired
configuration before importing the devices. This is the only way to ensure that all the connections
are configured correctly.
When you configure the device redundancy, make sure that the IedNames of the devices
belonging together for the redundancy are defined in the IED configurator (for example, DIGSI)
according to the following scheme:
Master unit:
<IedName>
Backup unit:
<IedName>_R
In this way the import automatically recognizes devices belonging together.
If you use the device redundancy, make sure that the devices belonging together only differ in
the IedName.
The following redundancy configurations are supported:
Interface redundancy:
Device with at least 2 IEC 61850 interfaces
System redundancy:
Device with at least 1 IEC 61850 interface
2 devices with at least 1 IEC 61850 interface respectively
Full redundancy:
2 devices with at least 2 IEC 61850 interfaces respectively

The general indication combination via port and redundancy error lists in _SNMPSystemDevice
is not possible with the redundancy. Use the SoftPLC in redundant configurations to connect the
indications.
If the SNMP client processes "Link Down" messages (e.g. from a Ruggedcom switch) as
single-point indication (information type = "SP"), these messages must be inverted via
normalization.
To do so, adjust the normalization in the Templates view:
General parameters Name: "Inversion" (for example) Input
type: "Digital"
Conversion type: "Conversion"
Conversion 1. pair of values: "1:2" 2. pair of values: "2:1"
To activate the inversion, Normalization must be selected in the Normalization. column in the
Mapping view for the messages concerned This inversion must also be done if the data base
has been taken over from a SICAM PAS V6.0 project.
If the Link Down messages are described as double-pole messages (as in the standard device
templates), no inversion is necessary.
For using secure communication via SNMP V3 and Hirschmann Ethernet switches, it is not
possible to communicate with the "noAuthNoPriv" mode (without authentication and without
privacy). Only the "authNoPriv" mode (with authentication but without privacy) is supported in
Hirschmann Ethernet switches.
Conflicts between SICAM PAS/PQS SNMP and Windows SNMP Trap Service
When using the SNMP application in SICAM PAS/PQS, ensure that Windows "SNMP Trap
Service" (if installed) and all services using port 162 are stopped and deactivated.
If another SNMP service is already active, the SICAM PAS/PQS SNMP service can neither open
the listen port for the traps nor start the interface for the SNMP application.
In this case, in SICAM PAS/PQS UI Operation the status of the SNMP application and the
interface will be displayed as Being started now (purple) even though all devices are in status
In progress (green).
If the SNMP Trap Service is installed and active, stop it.
(You can start and stop services, e.g. in Windows 7, via Computer Management > Services
and Applications > Services)

4.28 Automation
4.28.1 Short Installation Path for Large Projects
The SICAM PAS/PQS installation path for very large projects with a high number of individual
function blocks (more than 300) should be as short as possible (for example, C:\PAS).
Otherwise, problems can occur with the linker of the programming system.
For example, the following error message may be issued when opening a
[ProgrammName].CRD:
Error when opening the [ProgrammName].CRD: File not found.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Siemens\SICAM PAS\Automation]
"GIAfterRedSwitch"=dword:00000001
After changing the registry entry you have to restart the Automation application.
To deactivate it and thus restore the previous behavior, set the value for GIAfterRedSwitch to
0 or delete the entry completely.
By default, the value is not set in the registry and the current behavior is still valid.
4.29 NTP
To use NTP with the Windows 7 and Windows 2008 operating systems, enter the following
settings in the NTP.CONF file (improvement of the time stability):
MinPoll=4 MaxPoll=4 (standard values Minpoll=2 Maxpoll=6)
The ntp.conf configuration file is located in the...\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc directory or in
64 Bit Systems Windows\sys\WoW64\Drivers\etc .
Proceed as follows in order to obtain your NTP configuration:
Copy the contents of ntp.conf.new to a working file.
If a new backup file has been created, copy the specific server and peer specifications from
the backup file to the working file using an editor of your choice.
If no new backup file has been created, copy the specific server and peer specifications from
the ntp.conf file to the working file using an editor of your choice.
If no previous specific NTP configuration exists, use an editor of your choice to add your
specifications to the working file.
Save the working file as ntp.conf.
4.30.3 Synchronization
The CMD_SYNC, CMD_NOSYNC and CMD_MEAS commands required for synchronization
are not generated automatically. Only a regular command with feedback is created instead. This
command can be used as a template for the creation of the synchronization commands. The
feedback must only be assigned to CMD_SYNC.
The originally created command is not relevant.

4.31 Database - Work with SICAM PAS/PQS and SIMATIC STEP 7 on one
Computer
This section describes how to use 2 Sybase database servers on a PC system (dbsrvX.exe,
where X stands for the version, for example, 7 or 9). This can happen if SICAM PAS/PQS (Full
Server) and SIMATIC STEP 7 are installed on the same computer.
This section describes how to change the port number of the SICAM PAS/PQS database server
to avoid simultaneous access to the 2 database servers.
1) Setting the Port Number of the Database Server
To set the port number of the database server, go to the Windows Registry (Start -> Run ->
re-edit) and change the value of this registry key.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ASANYs_pas\Para
meters] -> "Parameters"
The following text is added to the -x tcpip: (port=[portnum]) keyword, where [portnum] is
replaced by a non-reserved port number, for example, 4711.
The new registry key value shall then be as follows:
"-gp 8192 -gk all -gd all -gb idle -ct- -ch 80M -gl all -ti 0 -n HOSTNAME_pas -x tcpip(port=4711)"
2) Adjusting the ODBC link
To adjust the ODBC link, go to the administration (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel ->
Management). Open Data sources (ODBC) and select the System DSN tab. Afterwards,
select SIEMENS_SICAM_PAS from the list and click Configure on the right side. You can
also double-click SIEMENS_SICAM_PAS.
Another window opens.
Select the Network tab and enter the PORT=[portnum] keyword into the text box next to
TCP/IP. When you do this, [portnum] is set with the port number set in point 1) (port number of
the database server).
Note: If DIPs are connected to your Full Server, then also change the ODBC link on the DIPs.
The test as to whether the DIPs are connected to the Full Server can be executed via the
Feature Enabler on the DIP under the Database option. This option shows to which Full
Server a database connection is established (if it is already set).
Note: If you use a 64-bit operating system, double-click the Odbcad32.exe file in the
"%systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64" directory. (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel ->
Management does not work on a 64-bit operating system)

4.34 Redundancy
Due to the limitation of a maximum of 10 TCP connections and the withdrawal of the Windows
XP operating system support in April 2014, Siemens does not recommend the use of Windows
XP Professional SP3 for redundant and large configurations.
Depending on the communication protocol/component, SICAM PAS/PQS supports different
redundancy variants. For more details, refer to the Redundancy manual.
Network Teaming Cards must be used for doubled network connection between computers. For
successful commissioning of a redundant system, make sure that the network configuration has
been set according to the description in the manual. Checklist:
- Definition system adaptor
- Adaptation host file
- Correct configuration of the computer name and the IP addresses
- Extended network configuration
NOTE
The name resolution of the computer names should result in the corresponding IP addresses
(check with Ping).
For more details, refer to the Redundancy manual.
