The Battery Converter Unit may have a hazardous DC
voltage level (around 300 VDC) on its output terminals during
operation all installation and service work shall only be conducted
by properly trained service personnel.

installation or service work. Double check that no hazardous
voltages (both AC and DC) are present before touching any
potentially live parts.

NOTE: The DC input to the Battery Converter Unit is not internally fused;
therefore it is a safety requirement that the DC supply circuit is
protected externally by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breaker.
The cables connecting the output of the Telecom rectifier to the Battery Converter Unit should
be sized such that there is less than approximately 0.5V drop across the cables at maximum
rated current. Total cable length (negative plus positive) is thus limited to approximately 6.5m
(10mm2), 10m (16mm2) and 16m (25mm2) respectively.

While AC Mains supply to the Air-Conditioning is present, the Battery Converter Unit is held in a low-power
standby state, meaning no additional rectifier capacity need be considered for
powering the Battery Converter Units. However, the Telecom Battery and distribution circuit
needs to be suitably sized to cater for the Battery Converter current draw during AC failure
conditions.
The Battery Converter Unit is typically mounted vertically to the right hand side of the indoor
unit using the brackets provided.
