Read the following text. Then, answer questions (a) - (j).

Typhoid fever is caused by a bacteria called Salmonella typhi.When we take in food or

drink that is contaminated with this bacteria, we can be infected. Is is an accute infectious
disease characterised by high fever, rashes and abdominal pain. If left untreated, it can be a
fatal disease. However, like most disease, it can be prevented with good hygiene and proper
health practices.
Basically, typhoid fever is spread due to the consumption of food prepared under
unhygienic conditions. A person who has typhoid fever is a carrier and he or she transmits the
bacteria to the food or drink that he or she prepares if the hands are not washed properly after
going to the toilet.
In many countries, the lack of proper sanitation and sewage treatment is another cause.
People who drink untreated or unboiled water will be infected while an open sewage systems
breeds flies which will transmit the bacteria to food that is exposed.
Therefore we should ensure that the food we eat at home or outside is prepared under the
best hygienic conditions.

Read the text below.
Dato Jimmy Choo is Malaysias most famous shoemaker. He was born in Penang in
1961 into a family of shoemakers. In fact, he made his first pair of shoes at eleven years of
age.
He completed only six years of formal education in Shih Chung Primary School and
worked as an apprentice in the family shoe business for some time. Then, he went off to
England to study shoemaking at the Cordwainers Technical College which is now a part of
the London College of Fashion. He had a tough time and had to work part-time in
restaurants and as a cleaner in a shoe factory to support himself.
After his graduation in 1968, he started with a small workshop in an old hospital building
which he rented in Hackney, East London. It was a humble beginning but soon things began
to brighten up. His craftmanship and design were soon noticed and they were featured in a
record eight pages in the 1988 issue of Vogue Fashion magazine. Then, from 1990
onwards, the late Princess Diana became his customer and this helped to boost his image.
In 1996, he found Jimmy Choo Limited with the United Kingdom Vogue editor, tamara
Mellon. Five years later, he sold his company for ten million pounds sterling.
Today Dato Jimmy Choo concentrates on his own Jimmy Choo Couture line which

produces ready-to-wear shoes and handbags. He is also involved in a project to start a

shoe institute in Malaysia. He was bestowed a state award each from the Sultan of Pahang

As quiet

a mouse
Who does the mischief thats done
In everybodys house!
Theres no one ever sees his face,
And yet we all agree
That every plate we break was cracked
By Mr. Nobody.
Tis he who always tears our books,
Who leaves the door ajar,
He pulls the buttons from our shirts,
And scatters pins afar;
That squeaking door will always squeak,
For, prithee, dont you see,
We leave the oiling to be done
By Mr. Nobody.
He puts damp wood upon the fire,
That kettles cannot boil;
His are the feet that bring in mud,
And all the carpets soil.
The papers always are mislaid,
Who had the last but he?
Theres no one tosses them about
But Mr. Nobody.
The finger marks upon the door
By none of us are made;
We never leave the blinds unclosed,
To let the curtains fade;
The ink we never spill; the boots
That lying round you see
Are not our boots - they all belong
To Mr.Nobody.
