as a whole.

Meaning: The code of conduct developed by company which focuses on maintaining their core
business values and ensures good relationships with staff members and local community.

goodwill for the company.
3. Sustainable development
Meaning: Sustainable development is the economic development in which there is low growth
rate (as needed by society), absence of pollution and very low impact on the environment.
Sentence: The real target of business corporations should be sustainable development rather
maximization of profits.
4. Climate change
Meaning: Climate change also known as the greenhouse effect refers to the consistent increase in
the average temperature of earths atmosphere gradually due to emission of industrial gases and
pollution.

to be blamed for climate change.

Meaning: Human rights refer to the fundamental rights that a person has on account of being a
human, which is neither created nor can be relinquished by the government.

employed by their sub contractors in Asian countries such as Pakistan and Indonesia.

Meaning: Ethical business means those businesses which adhere to business ethics such as good
management, employee well being, corporate social responsibility, compliance programs etc.

Sentence: Ethical businesses are those businesses which go beyond making mere statements
regarding doing business ethically but convert these words into actual action.

Meaning: Environmentally friendly or eco friendly are the marketing claims with reference to the

Meaning: Risk management means the system of identification, assessment, control, reduction
and elimination of unacceptable risk.

9. Do gooding
Meaning: well meaning but interfering
Sentence: Many of the typical profit centric businessmen still view corporate social
responsibility as a do gooding and nothing more.

Sentence: Many news channels have a ticker running at the bottom of the screen showing the
latest breaking news.

Meaning: a superficial presentation of something
Sentence: Most of the financial scams are the result of financial window dressing by the
companies to present a rosy or distorted picture of the business financial performance.
