The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Materialprfung (Materials Testing Standards Committee), Technical Committee Hrteprfung fr Metalle.
Amendments
DIN 50150, October 2000 edition, has been superseded by the specifications of ISO 18265, which is
identical to ISO 18265.

Foreword
International Standard
ISO 18265 : 2003 Metallic materials Conversion of hardness values,
which was prepared by ISO/TC 164 Mechanical testing of metals of the International Organization for Standardization, has been adopted by Technical Committee ECISS/TC 1 Steels Mechanical and physical tests,
the Secretariat of which is held by AFNOR, as a European Standard.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, and conflicting national standards withdrawn, by May 2004 at the latest.
In accordance with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard:
Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland,
Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the
United Kingdom.
