Basketball boys Jr. high boys win


fourth game
defeat Fairfax
The Tarkio Jr. High Boys
Basketball Team competed
against the Fairfax Bulldogs
on November 4, 2014, in
Fairfax, MO. Tarkio won the
contest 39-24.
Garrett Meyer scored 20
of Tarkios 39 points. Also
adding points to the board
were Jake McEnaney with
seven, Gage McAdams with
six, and Wyatt Gray, Daniel
Angelo, and Alex Driskell
with two each. Coach Robbie Bates remarked, It was
a solid effort! The kids made
the defensive plays in the
second half when we needed
them. They turned a tough
first half into a nice win and
something to build on for
the rest of the week.

Shaw receives
football honors

CONNOR SHAW - Recently


received All-District football
honors as a junior player on
the East Atchison Wolves
Football Team. Shaw was
named to the All-District
Defense Team as Defensive
End. Shaw also received 275
Conference honors, being
named to the 1st Team AllConference Defense as a Defensive End and 2nd Team
All-Conference Offense as

The Tarkio Jr. High Boys


Basketball Team hosted
West Nodaway on November 6, 2014, in Tarkio. Tarkio
won the game, their fourth
straight victory, 45-23.
Jake McEnaney led the
Tarkio team with 17 points,
followed by Gage McAdams
and Garrett Meyer with 12
each and Daniel Angelo with
four. Coach Robbie Bates
said, The kids came out
ready to play. We led 23-9
at half and outscored tehm
16-6 in the third quarter to
put the game away. It was a
solid defensive game by all.
The boys will play against
South Holt in Oregon, MO,
on Thursday, November 13,
at 5:30 p.m.

The Tarkio Jr. High Girls


Basketball Team competed
against the Nodaway-Holt
Lady Trojans on October 30,
2014, in Tarkio. Tarkio lost
the game 12-17.
Grace Martin led the
Tarkio team with six points,

followed by Lily Graves,


Hayley Berry, and Catelyn
Prater with two each. Coach
Keaton Hawkins said, The
girls played good defense,
but were unable to find
many open shots.

Coach Keaton Hawkins commented, The girls
played a very good second
half, but started slow, which
hurt us in the end. Our free
throws have to improve in
order for us to win games.

dogs, baked beans, cooked cabbage, sliced peaches, apricots, and milk.
Wednesday, November 19 - Breakfast - Breakfast
slider, cheese stick, peaches, juice, and milk; and Lunch Chicken sticks, romaine lettuce, broccoli with cheese, pear
halves, fresh orange, and milk.
Thursday, November 20 - Breakfast - Biscuit, sausage patty, pineapple, juice, and milk; and Lunch - Hamburger on a bun, tater rounds, peas, pineapple tidbits,
cherries, and milk.
Friday, November 21 - Breakfast - Pancake on a stick,
mixed fruit, juice, and milk; and Lunch - Sliced turkey,
mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, applesauce, peaches, roll, and milk.
A 2nd entree and a chef salad are now available
the 5th-12th of each month.
