(Philadelphia, PA November 12, 2014) Continuing a year of exciting momentum and bold innovation, Dilworth Paxson LLP has expanded its client services with the formation of the #SocialMedia Practice Group chaired by Partner Eric B. Meyer. The new practice group was announced today at Dilworths educational program Social Media @Work: The #BalancingAct Between Employer and Employee, moderated by Mr. Meyer and featuring top experts from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board. The event drew over 100 human resources professionals, attorneys, and other business decision makers to the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. The #SocialMedia Practice Group brings together a cross-section of distinguished Dilworth attorneys with in-depth experience in Litigation, Labor & Employment, Intellectual Property, Securities, and Media Law. The team will handle issues related to defamation, false light, First Amendment disputes, intellectual property rights, and other litigation matters arising in the social media space, including those involving electronic discovery and evidentiary issues. Additionally, Dilworth attorneys will advise on disciplinary and termination decisions relating to employee use of social media; assist in drafting workplace policies; and provide valuable counsel on social media compliance issues as well as noncompetition, non-solicitation, and trade secret considerations involving former employees. At Dilworth, we understand the widespread use of social media, its viral effect, and its ever-growing impact on the business community, and we are at the forefront of emerging social media issues in the workplace, says Mr. Meyer. The #SocialMedia Practice Group will help clients roll with social medias punches and provide counsel to help avoid any unexpected blows altogether. Eric B.
