Reflection on 4th August 2009

This was the first Listening Skill lesson plan with 3 Cekap. I was very
nervous at the beginning of the lesson. Pupils had background knowledge of who
was inventing the telephone. This helped me a lot during teaching part. They also
could understand the use of Past Tense well.
After teaching them Past Tense, I distribute task sheet for them before
proceed with the Listening session. They seemed a bit clueless at first. However,
after knowing what they should do, they managed to do the task. One point that I
noted was I should ask them to use symbol of (

) and (

) than applied the

concept of ( T ) for true and ( F ) for false sentence. Some pupils confused with
the instruction to complete the task. So, next time I should be more aware of
using symbol to represent something. The lesson was well implemented except
for the unclear instruction for the task sheet.

Mahjung paper
Simple Past Tense

The Simple Past Tense shows an action that has been done in the past

Example: We played football last week.

They went to the Zoo yesterday.
Johan visited me on Sunday.

The Simple Past Tense can be formed by adding d to a verb, adding

ed to a verb, replacing the y with ied

Example: smile > smiled

watch > watched

cry > cried

Some verbs in the Past Tense do not end with d, ed or ied. They are
irregular verbs

Example: go > went

buy > bought

see > saw

make > made
