This is the property, commonly measured as the variation in mass per unit length along the yarn, is a basic and Important one, since it can influence other properties of the yarn and fabric made from it. Such variations are inevitable, because they arise from the fundamental nature of textile fibers and from their resulting arrangement. The spinner tries to produce a yarn with the highest Possible degree of homogeneity. In this connection, the evenness of the yarn mass is of the greatest importance. In order to produce an absolutely regular yarn, all fiber characteristies Should be uniformly distributed over the whole yarn. However, that is ruled out by the homogeneity of the fiber material and by the mechanical constraints. Accordingly, there aro limits to the achievable yarn evenness." Explain the importance of reducing the yarn unevenness and how the use of Autoleveller affects it. 1.b. A cotton yarn of 50s English cotton count (Ne) spun of cotton with @ micronaire value of 4.1 (“8/ , ). What will be the ideal irregularity Of this yarn and what is its expected actual measured irregularity? 2" SPECTROGRAM Is a reprosentation of the mass variation in the frequency domain Spectrogram helps to recognize and analyze the periodic fault in the sliver, roving and yarn Two common reasons: Variability in fiber length and the presence of shar fibers mace hoe control during drafting difficult, this leads to non-random variations. in a fiber assem, Such non-random variation is called a drafting wave. Itis called a drafting wave beenece he mass variation oceurs in a more or less periodic manner in the drafted materia, much lke & wave of variations along the length of the fiber assembly. There may be machine defects cr mechanical faults in the drafting systems, which causes changes in drafting peso ona Ure actual draft periodically, leading to rather strictly periodic mass variations in the drafted ticer assembly a.
