Terms and Conditions for International Exchange and Visiting Programme

At CEIBS MBA Program


As a nominated student by my home school to study at CEIBS as an Exchange/Visiting student, I fully
understand and accept the following terms:
1.

While participating in the Programme, I:


(a)

must uphold and support the CEIBS Code of Ethics, follow China national laws and
regulations as well as rules and policies established by CEIBS relating to the use of facilities
and services at the School.

(b)

must participate fully in all academic activities through diligent preparation and honest
performance on all assignments and examinations, respect the individual and property
rights of others, behave in a socially responsible manner in all activities and accept
responsibility for their conduct.

(c)

must attend all scheduled classes on time and must be seated according to the given
seating chart. I acknowledge non-excused absence, late arrival, early departure, and leaving
the classroom without permission are forbidden during all classes.
For leave application, I must inform the relevant faculty in advance (with a copy to the
Teaching Assistant of that course) via email. A doctors proof should be provided for sick
leave when I come back to school. I acknowledge all leaves are subject to the general
attendance rules and grading penalties indicated in the following for class absence.
15 minutes late or absence in the middle of a class will be considered absence for the class.
3 times of late arrivals within 15 minutes will be counted as 1 absence. All absences are
counted toward my grade performance, regardless of the reason or the permission granted.
Absence in more than 25% of the total sessions of one course will result in a mandatory
reduction of the final grades or exclusion from the class, regardless of the reason for
absence. Faculty members may also impose grading penalties for absences of less than 25%
of sessions according to their own grading criteria. If I miss more than 50% of the classes of
any particular course, I will automatically fail the course and will not be granted credit for
the course.

(d)

must take personal responsibility for ensuring that instructions for assessed work are
understood. Any doubts or ambiguities must be checked with the appropriate faculty.

(e)

must read all communications from the CEIBS MBA Office and adhere to relevant deadlines
regarding elective choices. I acknowledge that it is the Schools policy that NO student is
allowed to drop or add an elective after drop-add period. After the Drop-add deadline, if I
do not attend a course that I have officially registered in the bidding system, I will be given
the failure grade of F for the course.

must comply with examination and assessment regulations. CEIBS follows a letter grade
system (A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, F). C+ is the passing grade. If the course failure is due to
poor performance, a one-time re-exam/ re-assignment may be requested and the relevant
faculty may approve or deny it. If the re-exam/ re-assignment is passed, a grade of C+ will
be given. Re-exam/ re-assignment will not be allowed for a grade other than C or F. I
shall make sure my academic performance and credits earned during study at CEIBS could
meet the requirements of my home school.

I acknowledge my access to the career services at CEIBS will be on a reciprocal basis on par with the
services provided by my home school to CEIBS exchange students and it is available during the period
of exchange only.
I am expected to follow the behavioural norms at all CEIBS recruiting events, registering events in
advance, attending registered events on time, dressing in business formal attire unless otherwise
specified, studying the company in advance and be prepared to ask meaningful questions about the
firm, the industry or the jobs being discussed, etc..

3.

I am responsible for purchasing adequate personal health and hospitalization insurance coverage and
provide proof before/ upon registration at CEIBS. Any medical expenses that exceed the coverage
provided by such insurance shall be borne by me and my family.

4.

I acknowledge that I will not receive confirmation of my grades until I have completed the leaving
procedure at CEIBS and cleared all fees owed to CEIBS.

5.

If I breach any of the provisions of this Agreement, the School may:


(a)

cancel the my participation in the International Exchange and Visiting Programme; and/or

(b)

(if appropriate) take disciplinary action (including, without limitation, reducing or annulling
grade(s) awarded).

(c)

Report the case to my home school.
