TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS MIRACLES

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 16-18; 1 Peter 1
Tuesday, November 18

Matt. 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest.

Luke 13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan
hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Psa. 38:4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are
too heavy for me.

O Heavenly Father:
The cry of my Christ is a single syllable: come. The Old Testament law said
harshly, Go! Sometimes my friends who are lost think I am saying the same thing:
Go, keep the commandments. Many people I know are trying to go keep their
own rules, made-up out of their own conscience, and it is a rule of fear.
Hos. 11:4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as
they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
The law drives people before it with a whip, but the gospel draws men and
women to it with bands of love. Jesus I see you! You are the Good Shepherd
who goes before and is leading the sheep, calling them to follow with that sweet
word, Come.
Religion repels so many people today. Help me make sure my gospel
attracts them! The law shows the gap between people and God, but the cross
bridges that distance entirely. Bring many sinners across it and use me!
I come to you. Go before me to pave the way into the hearts of people I
care so deeply about, like __________ and __________. Clear the path until
they can hear your voice through my words, calling them after you.
Rev. 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even
so, come, Lord Jesus.
Not only is this your cry to me, but this is my cry to you today. Come! I am
longing for the rapturenot so I can escape anything, but just so I can see you.
Come quickly so I can be near you. In the meantime, come and occupy the
throne of my heart. Reign without rival as the ruler you really are. Amen.

Merciful Lord:
Satan knows how to make me fear a thousand deaths while waiting for just
one, yet he is unable to touch me as to my true identity, and standing in Christ.
After the Devil has done his worst, even if I have no sense of your comfort, I am
still your beloved; I am still a spiritual son or daughter of Abraham; I am still the
child you adopted by your death for me on the cross.
Sometimes I feel like Satan has me bound tight, but you have bound me
tighter to Christwith cords of everlasting love. Whatever manacles of sin may
hold me in the corruptions of my flesh, the manacles that hold me to you are still
stronger. If the struggle has been long, that only means the victory is even nearer.
Nobody in the synagogue could glorify God better than this womanwhich
had a spirit of infirmity (v 11)when she was set free. I know you desire the same
thing for me! Every moment I suffer just gives more volume to the chorus of
praise that I will sing for what you have delivered me from. The deeper the
sorrow, the sweeter my song will be.
Bring the warm river of your infinite power into contact with my lukewarm
and lethargic stream of existence today. Make me straight so I can glorify God (v
13). Get me away from thinking all about myself so I can think about my Lord,
and from memorizing my worries to meditating on his worth, because he is
more than a match for Satanic influence and bondage!
Let me be lifted up in prayer and in praise today. You made me spiritually
alive, so make me spiritually active. Dont just take away the causes of sadness,
but the very tendency to be sad, and make me strong in the Lord now. Amen.

O Lord My God:
Sometimes my sorrows overwhelm me, and endanger me dishonoring your
name and your gospel. My pains and my weaknesses hinder me from your service
and render me useless for your mission. Already, it has been going on so long I
fear my body will not be able to hold out, nor my spirit able to bear up, if your
hand abides so heavy on me. If this sin be not subdued in me, or that temptation
be not removed, I am afraid I will be turned aside from the paths of
righteousness and let go of my hope.
For your mercys sake, O Lord, save me! Your lovingkindness is infinite.
Let this infinite lovingkindness be displayed in saving me. You are wise O God,
and though my haters are crafty, you can destroy their devices and disappoint
their desires. You know how, by your wondrous wisdom, to turn my sorrows into
joy. You can find a way for my relief when everyone else stands afar off, and says
they can see no way to help me. You are almighty and all-sufficient. Your power
can suppress my fears immediately, vanquish the tempter eventually, break the
power of darkness to pieces, release me from the bondage of my corruptions, and
bring me into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
You are just and righteous and will not let the enemy oppress forever. You
are sovereign and all things are at your command. You can say to pains and
diseases, Go, or, Come. Speak therefore your word of healing and my body and
my soul will praise you. You delight in pardoning grace. It is the honor of God to
forgive. Let all my iniquities be canceled through the abundance of your rich
mercy. In Jesus Christs name I ask it. Amen and amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 22-24; 1 Peter 3
Thursday, November 20
Luke 17:15-16 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and
with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at [Jesus] feet, giving him thanks: and
he was a Samaritan.

HE giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,

He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials he multiplies peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Fathers full giving is only begun.
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 19-21; 1 Peter 2
Wednesday, November 19

2 Pet. 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the
everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Psa. 98:1 O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things:
his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

Holy Lord and Father:

You promised to save anyone who will put their faith and trust in your
Sons sacrifice for their sins. But let us not be saved so as by firearriving with
nothing to show. Minister to us an entrance into your kingdom that will be
abundant! Fully supply us with what we need to work for a full reward.
We have many things to ask of you, and many things we dont even know
we need. Give us what you see is best for us. We pray for revival in our city. We
pray for you to help everyone supported by our church who is ministering in
another country or another place. We pray for those who are seeking souls today
for your Son. Add to our church daily such as should be saved, that they might be
discipled in the word, and grow in faith and godliness.
1 Tim. 2:1-4 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we
may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable
in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the
knowledge of the truth.
Bless our country and our President. Bless his cabinet and those who
govern. Bless both houses of congress and our new representatives. Spare us
from evil as a nation. Be with our soldiers defending our freedom. Send us peace
to be able to minister godliness and honesty in our society. Let us all live by the
laws of the King, even those who have not yet yielded their hearts to his sway.
May your kingdom come. May your will be done. For yours is the kingdom
and power and glory for ever. Amen.

Gracious Lord, Strong and Mighty:

Jesus who lived a marvelous life, died a marvelous death, and arose by a
marvelous resurrection, has sent the Holy Spirit into my heart to do marvelous
deeds. Idols have fallen, superstitions have withered, systems of error have fled,
fears have vanished, foes have been vanquishedevil empires have even
perished. For all this you deserve the highest praise. Your acts have proven your
existence. Jesus is Jehovah; we sing to you as LORD.
Your victories Jesus, are more wonderful still, because they are not won by
physical means but by moral influence, by the energy of goodness rooted in
justice and founded on truth. In a word, by the power of your holy arm. Your
gracious influence is the sole cause of my spiritual success.
The salvation you achieve is the result of your wonderful wisdom, and so it
is ascribed to your right hand. It meets all the requirements of true justice. It is
beyond my human comprehension; hence it deserves a new song.
Psa. 98:4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise,
and rejoice, and sing praise.
I need to shout as if welcoming a King. Let the proclamation of your gospel
reign among us!
Sing lustily, and with a good courage. Beware of singing like you are half dead or half
asleep; but lift up your voice with strength. Be no more afraid of your voice now, no more
ashamed of its being heard than when you sang the songs of Satan. John Wesley
Let every form of praise be used, and every style of music pressed into
service. We have heard the joyful soundspread the tidings all around. Jesus saves!

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions

asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Dont make excuses; make a difference!

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
