ABSTRACT

This is training of 30 days, during these days my training place was 220KV G.S.S. Pindwara
(Rajasthan).

G.S.S.

is

the

mean

of

connection

between generating

station

and

consumer by providing safety and reliability of system in case of default.

This substation step down the incoming voltage power transmission to the required valve and
then is supplied to the consumer feeder or GSS done by connecting auto transformer operation
and requirement of various equipment have been include in detail , further in case of report is
the bus bar.
In our substation there is two main parts 220KV and 132 KV which is a part of substation. First
we receive the power 220 KV from Bali, and then we step down the voltage at 132 KV and
Transmit to the no. of feeders.
We have three main transformers which converts 132 KV to 33KV. One transformer is rating of
100MVA (BHEL-EMCO) and Two Transformer having rating of 25 MVA (IMP). So the total
capacity of our substation is 125 MVA.
Arrangement of different feeder level and switch yards included information of bus bar
arrangement of different level isolator and growing substation also power transformer circuit
breakeroil, filtration plant, and compression protection control.
While making this training report every care has been taken to avoid any mistake. In short I hope
to provide concise sight of four weeks of my training period through this report.
I was lucky to have my training from 220 KV G.S.S., Pindwara that gave me an all round
knowledge that an electrical engineer should know. During 30 days of my training Session at
G.S.S. I got knowledge about power transmission and power line carrier communication.

PREFACE

I underwent practical training at R.R.V.P.N.L (rajasthan rajya vidyut prasaran nigam limited.)
from 01-06-2014 to 30-06-2014. This is a part of total 30 days training program incorporated in
the curriculum of the Poornima College of Engineering, for B.Tech. Course. As I am a student
of electrical engg. So the training at R.R.V.P.N.L. has been particularly beneficial for me. I saw
the various procedures, processes and equipment used in transmission of electricity which was
studied in books and this has helped me in better understanding of transmission and distribution
concepts of electrical power.
R.R.V.P.N.L. covers a very large area and it is very difficult to acquire complete knowledge
about it in a short span. I have tried to get acquainted with overall functioning and main concepts
involved there in.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

This report pertains to take vocational training which was undertaken under RAJASTHAN
RAJYA VIDYUT PRASARAN NIGAM LIMITED, in partial fulfilment of the requirement
for the BACHELOR IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING from Poornima College of Engg, .
The main purpose of the training was to acquaint myself with practical experience of actual work
condition in which were required to work in future. I learnt a lot from the practical experience of
the engineering & other personals under whom I was placed for training. This helped me to
develop the habit of analysis critically various aspects of problem at the time of decision making.
I would like to acknowledge to during training period Mr. Vikas kumar saini who give me clear
details & guidelines for the grid substation.
Finally; I would like to express my thanks to all of the technical & nontechnical persons for the
co- operation & valuable guidance during my training period.
