Research Design

Under this section, the method of research that will be or was used
(descriptive, experimental, etc.) should be explained and defined briefly. The
procedural part of the method, its appropriateness to the study, and some of its
advantages should be properly and briefly discussed.
It should be noted that the researcher should be carefully choose the
appropriate research design of the study be carefully examining the research
problem, the given hypotheses and the purpose of the whole study.

Three Basic Research Designs

In conducting research studies, the three basic research designs
commonly used are the following:
1. Descriptive Research it is a research design wherein events are
recorded, described, interpreted, analyzed and compared (Castillo 2002). Its
objective is to be described systematically a situation, condition or area of
interest factually and accurately. Descriptive designs include observation,
surveys and interviews, standardized tests, and case studies. Under
descriptive method, correlational research is commonly employed. In
correlational research, the aim is to describe the strength of relationship
between two or more events or characteristics (Santrock, 2005)

2. Historical Research a research design wherein past events are studied

and related to the present or in the future time (Castillo, 2002). Its purpose is
to construct the past objectively and accurately.

3. Experimental Research a research design wherein the cause and effect

relationship of a treatment on a variable is determined (Castillo, 2002). This
can be further divided into true experimental design and quasi-experimental
design. The objective of the true experimental design is to investigate
possible cause-and-effect relationships among the variables under study. This
is done by exposing one or more experimental groups to various treatment
conditions and comparing the results with one or more control groups
receiving the treatment. The quasi experimental design tries to
approximates the conditions of the true experimental design in a setting
which does not allow control or manipulation of all relevant variables (Andres,
1998, p.16)

Descriptive Research
Descriptive research is most applicable in research design because if we use
this method we also know the events and its description. If the events are describe
it is easier to find what we are going to show the public. The events are also
described by young and adult audience or them easy to know the interpretation of
the events. As soon as the public know the purpose and the public can now
analyzed the research design. We can also compare the condition of the research
design accurately. We can observe, find more research and tests other surveys. By
this research studies we can continue the most effective way of conducting more
events to determine.
