Steve has over 33 years in law enforcement. He
spent 12 years on the street as a police officer (7
years with Fairfax County Police, Virginia and 5
years with Liberty Police Department, New York) and
retired as a federal agent from the Air Force Office
of Special Investigation where he was a Special
Agent and Forensic Consultant. He currently
teaches throughout the USA and consults in
bloodstain evidence and has recently done so for 3
police agencies in the Phoenix Metro area, as well
as agencies in Idaho and New Mexico. He has
testified as an expert in Bloodstain Pattern
Interpretation in Mississippi, Washington DC,
California, Arizona, Wyoming, and Maryland. He
earned a Masters Degree in Forensic Sciences from
George Washington University, a Fellowship Degree
from the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, and
an Internship with Cook County Medical Examiners'
Office in Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of the
International Association of Bloodstain Pattern
Analysts. He has been a member of the American
Academy of Forensic Sciences since 1989 where he
has presented Bloodstain and Sexual Assault Cases
at Academy Meetings. He has conducted numerous
experiments involving blood, bloodstains and
patterns. He has taught Bloodstain Familiarization

Massachusetts, New Mexico, Utah, Connecticut and
various locations throughout the U.S.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is a forty hour
course designed for detectives,
crime scene investigators, and
law enforcement personnel
involved in crime scene
investigation. Students will
receive hands on training in
logical ways to organize an
investigation, medico-legal
investigations of death,
challenging photography
techniques, use of light energy
at crime scenes, chemical
processes for latent fingerprint
identification, presumptive
testing for blood, chemical
processes for enhancement of
bloodstains as well as mock
situations for the evaluation and
processing of evidence.
Students should have had some
basic crime scene training or
experience before registering
for this class.
