Business Development Manager (Ref: BDM3478)

Salary - circa 35,000 per annum
Location - Manchester City Centre
Business Growth Hub are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to develop new business opportunities and
identify new clients for the Business Growth Hub to ensure that business development targets are achieved.

The duties of the job include:

To exploit new business opportunities and customer relationships in a targeted and planned way including any new
contracts/tender opportunities
Achievement of agreed targets for contacts made and referrals received to ensure the achievement of company targets
To generate business from databases of clients across the Greater Manchester area
To proactively engage in social media platforms to create awareness and generate business
To position the Business Growth Hubs teams as key service providers with significant knowledge and experience of
business growth in the startup and existing business arena.
To represent the Business Growth Hub at marketing and networking events throughout the geographical area with an
aim of providing qualified referrals into the various teams and any other services across the wider business setting and
networking events
To professionally and effectively represent the Growth Hub at local, regional and national levels, promoting the profile
and positive image of the company with all stakeholders and clients
To develop a strong relationship with and to encourage referrals from stakeholders and referral partners
Day to day management of key internal and external partners and relationships
To work closely with the Growth Hub teams including the Managers, Advisors and the Coordinators
To plan to achieve personal and business targets and objectives and to analyse and evaluate own performance on a
monthly basis

Experience in a similar role


Commercially astute and IT literate: able to communicate at all levels
A flexible approach
Networking events outside of normal working hours when needed
A wider knowledge of public and private sector clients
An understanding of business/enterprise issues
Able to respect the clients needs for information, commitment and confidentiality
Able to convey the service credibly which results in a continual increase in referrals into the service
Effectively links objectives and actions to an overall strategy
Prioritises and schedules to ensure optimum use of time and resource
The ability to quickly and efficiently identify decision makers within clients and effectively measure business potential
Builds and maintains rapport over sustained periods
Effective networker, good referrals trader and sharer of business opportunities with other key intermediaries
Knows how to prioritise and work with a portfolio of clients and prospects
Excellent verbal and presentation skills
Clean current driving licence
